I was just asked if I wanted to go to the dining room tomorrow (Wednesday) for breakfast, lunch & dinner, or if I wanted to have the three meals brought to my apartment. I will go to the dining room as I did today. Solo dinning is still the procedure until further notice. It's 4 PM at present and at 5:30 PM I will take my walker. walk down the hall to the elevator and go down one floor and walk down another hall with my walker to the dining room. O My---What a exciting life I lead.
But I'm sure you are thankful that your life has some things in it where you can remain active and still do what others do. So many folks your age can't say the same.
I would prefer to eat in the dining room, even if nobody was there. Separate tables with one person per table in the current environment would be better. I enjoyed people watching when I was younger. Loved cafeterias that weren't crowded, so you could stay as long as you wanted. Carry a book or do some paper work at the same time. I met a lot of people that way who I still remember after 50 years.
Hey, I'm sitting here on my couch typing to you. Where am I gonna go where this travesty ain't being rubbed in my [masked] face. You have more human contact that I.
Same here. I would go to the shopping mall and take a book with me, just to be around people. "People watching" is fascinating. Kinda like Animal Planet, but makes less sense. I wonder when I lost interest in that...and why?
You can people "watch" on a forum, only you watch their typed words instead of their actions. It may be even better, because you can't hear what people say from a distance.
Yeh, but that implied tonal inflection will get ya' every time. I do enjoy reading the comments of folks our age, because of the adult writing style.
