I am going to admit that I like to eat snacks. Sometimes in the afternoon at work, I need a 'pick-me-up'. Favorites were candy bars, Jerky, etc. usually from a vending machine. Over the last few years, my choices has taken a weird turn. Started when the wife brought home a very large box of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers. Was never a snack I consided before, but put some in a sandwich size ziplock bag, and threw in my work backpack. ADDICTING...to say the least. So I thought, why not look around the pantry and find other things to throw in a ziplock and LO and Behold, there's a box of Honeynut Cheerios! Now at work, I look like a kindergartener with my bags of Gold Fish , Cheerios and Froot Loops spread out on the break table. Anyone else carry weird snacks when they are out and about?
Oyster crackers comes to mind, right off the top of my head. Sad, isn't it? But my out and about is more like upstairs in the house, where the TV and computer are, and the kitchen isn't. Just thought of another one. Corn flakes. Plain old cornflakes.
I tried Goldfish crackers once, but found I didn't like them much. I ended up giving them to a grandson who loves them. Have any of you tried eating sorrel? I read that it tastes different to children than adults. We use it in salads and such, but when I introduced my grandchildren to it, they would completely clean out the garden of sorrel if we allowed it. Apparently it tastes similar to lemonade to children, but I don't know when the taste buds change.
