The living room here hasn't been decorated since we moved in back in 2002 so needs a major makeover, here are a few photos as is, I plan to remove the fireplace and build an artificial chimney breast plus put a new floor down in the dining area, and rewire all the electrics and lighting...
@Terry Page Looks nice and cozy! Nothing technical this time! My wife would give the left part of my anatomy for those double doors, though! They look like oak. Frank
Wow Terry - you're a very talented chap - look forward to seeing the finished room You're like a tornado so you are
Here is the current state of the project I hope to get the area tidied up today: A few interesting pics I took
Well I could barely believe me eyes Terry, you really are a Whirlwind I like the look of that first picture of the streamers from the ceiling - very arty, maybe you should keep that bit @Terry Page
@Terry Page , whatever those doors are, they are beautiful. Please don't paint them. Not too sure about the streamers, @Patsy Faye . LOL I'm looking forward to seeing your finished work, terry.
Here is the state of play at the moment, most of the room is decorated and the artificial chimney breast is almost complete, all the old carpet has been removed and taken to the tip, so it's all going to plan at the moment...
I have just about finished the living room area ready for the carpet, I fitted a door to the bottom of the stairs, it was originally the kitchen door but I took it off because we never used it.
Well the carpet is down and it looks amazingly good, so I am pleased with the result, the fitter joined the carpet to the wood very well without a joint strip................photos below. I have a few more odds and ends to do in the dining area then it's completed...ready for me to go to Russia for a much needed rest
