A little history of the town I was born and raised in. There is a statue of Bass Reeves at the U.S. Marshalls museum. https://www.nps.gov/fosm/learn/historyculture/bass_reeves.htm
Definitely a man of integrity! Fair and honest....we sure could use people like that today. Someone that would arrest his own son shows that unlike today...nobody is above the law. I'm not much of a history buff but that was a good read....thanks. I also tend to forget how dangerous the old west was....kind of like today.
Very interesting indeed @Sheldon Scott, there is a frontier museum in Staunton, Virginia, that is supposed to be very interesting too. I want to make that a part of my future plans. I agree we don't seem to have lawmen with the character of Mr. Reeves these days, if there are some, we don't seem to hear much about them. The old days were so interesting, in so many ways. I think people just need to remember what it was like.
