What Do You Think Of Young People?

One of our TV news stations hired several new reporters who appear to be all in their 20s. They completed their education in preparation for the job, and are now doing it with a whole lot of enthusiasm as they perform in their chosen field.

I applaud them but at the same time I’m jealous. Clearly, they have no idea what’s coming.

Please let them find out about it on their own.

The young people I come in contact with give me hope that their world won't be so bad. There's a sweet young woman next door named Ashley; she always rushes over to help me if she sees me doing anything in the yard. Last time I washed my car I was on a ladder to wash the roof and she came running across the yard to tell me to get down, she would do it. :D

And my grown grandchildren are all great. Oldest grandson (22) graduated college and went to work for Tesla. Second grandson (20) also went to work for Tesla. Granddaughter (21) just graduated from nursing school as a surgical assistant and she's engaged. Two step-grandsons are in the Air Force and young grandson (18) is a Marine. None of them are hiding in the basement playing video games.

I often wonder how the prior generation experienced us. Poor bastards went from "normal" to being highly outnumbered by Ankle Biting Boomer Babies. They barely had a chance to experience the miracle of modern television before it became overrun with cartoons and toy & cereal commercials.

Regarding the future: I think there is a strong backlash from younger folk against The Destroyers. I don't know where they got a solid sense of "normal" from, but I'm grateful for it.

I've mentioned that my neighbor has been a Scoutmaster and has helped a large number of boys become Eagle Scouts. I worked on one kid's Eagle Scout project and went to his ceremony (an Eagle Scout Convention.) I've been to 2 others as well. Those are very inspiring.

I think younger people are pretty much as they have always been. One issue these days is that it's easy to form opinions about others through the news, the internet, social media, etc., and it's all pretty much propaganda/bull poop. There's little in the world that comports with what we are told it is, especially when it comes to each other.
