Firstly , we all had a choice whether or not to have the Covid vaccine.
I don't have a problem with anti -vaxxers at all , but I chose to have the vaccines.
I was in hospital in 2020 with Covid .
That was when it was discovered that I had bi lateral apical lung fibrosis AND emphysema.
I welcome having the covid and flu jabs although they say I'm not eligible for the Covid jabs anymore so will need to pay about £100 to have one at a chemists.
With the state of my lungs I cannot afford to even get a common cold.
Last year I spent weeks in hospital after my lung collapsed twice in 2 months.
I'm pleased however that you are ok and was lucky that you didn't catch it despite not adhering to the rules.
I know you lost friends because of it , but your friend's dad was only looking out for them.
He did after all have duty of care with them being minors.
We are all at least over 50 on this forum, so Donny’s friends were probably adults as well. He said he is 55, but still lives with his parents, and apparently they still tell him what he can and can’t do. (April=Donny in case you missed that part).
We all had the choice here (as adults), but the issue was that most businesses, and all of the medical places, like doctors or hospitals were requiring people to wear some kind of a mask to go inside or the building. So, you could not shop for groceries or see your doctor unless you wore a mask.
They really didn’t care whether the mask was useful or not, as long as the person had something covering their face, so a lot of people just wore a little bandana kind of face covering.
Since that kind of face covering could not protect a person from any kind of virus, it really didn’t matter if you were wearing one or not, so Donny was as safe without the mask as he would have been with one on.
However, all of the masks cut off fresh oxygen, and made it really hard for a person to breathe, especially older people, or people who have lung issues.
Since I have poor lungs , as well as congestive heart failure, I have enough trouble breathing and getting good oxygen, even when I am not wearing a mask, and i could barely breathe when i had to go someplace that required a mask.
I finally found one online that also had a way to blow fresh air up by my nose so that I could actually breathe and wear the mask. Of course, it was no more a protection from a virus than any other masks are, but it did help me breathe when I had to go somewhere that forced people to wear a mask.
