Hopefully the ER doesn't put you through what I went through, after having some shoulder pain and shortness of breath, unless they have a test result that warrants more study. The urgent care was probably just covering their tails, in the event it was a mild heart attack.

The ER may do the same if they have any suspicion and test indicate any possibility. Everyone goes overboard these days, because of a few mistakes in the past that led to law suits.

Let us know if they do an echocardiogram and the results.

If you feel good, then keep telling them and ask why if they want to precede with any invasive procedures. Sorry to hear that you are at the ER, that can be for hours.

I got home last night around 8:30 from the ER. It was the day that got out of control.

I woke up yesterday with my usual pain for my upper left wing on my back that went through to the front chest. It was hard breathing I had to take deep breaths, when I did my I could feel my left lung.

I didn't want to go to the ER so I went to Urgent Care instead. I wanted an x-rated make sure my lungs were clear of pneumonia, and they normally do an EKG.The X-ray showed my lungs were clear, the EKG however showed I had a U shaped curve. the PA there concluded that meant I had high levels of potassium. within the last week I have been taking some potassium pills because of cramping in my legs. I also was having cereal with bananas almost daily. She also felt I could have a tear in my aorta. she wanted to call for an ambulance, I said no I'm going home I want to speak to my wife and family first. She said you can call them from here I said no I'm going home. Then she said call your wife I want to talk to her I said no. I said I'll talk to her when I get home.

I went home spoke to my wife and daughter told them what was going on, next thing I know is the PA calling to tell me that she spoke to the owner of the clinic who is a doctor and she agreed with her that I should go to emergency. She then asked to speak to my wife which she and my wife agreed I was stubborn. With all of this my wife and daughter now are on my case to go to emergency "let us call you an ambulance." I finally caved ambulance came took me to emergency I spent the next six or seven hours looking at the ceiling. my potassium levels were within the normal range. Their EKG did not have the U shape curve. the blood test and the CT scan was all negative.

At the end of the day I went to two services and still don't know what the pain in my back is. I personally always felt it's muscular.

One interesting thing did happen. The CT scan was with contrast when they injected the chemical you feel it warming your veins. when I got back to my bed after the CT scan my back pain was gone. could it be the heat from my veins being hot relax the muscle I think so.

This morning my wife is at the cardiologist office waiting to have a test done. While there I rescheduled appointments I canceled last week one for vascular test the other appointment to see the cardiologist.

The one good thing that came out of yesterday's episode is I met a lot of nice people at the hospital especially the nurses and doctors they were friendly and actually one female doctor called me sweet I said you got to be kidding to myself but they all were nice people.

We are a stubborn lot, when it comes to going to doctors, aren't we?

Sometimes, I think it is because we don't feel heard or seen because we are old. Not all medical people are like that but I have been to doctors or nurses that don't even look at me when I am speaking to them. They just nod their head looking at nothing. They are probably thinking what they are going to have for lunch instead of listening to me.

This is definitely true about being stubborn about seeing doctors, Krys. I get so resentful about my PCP making me go in every 6 months for a checkup to get my prescriptions renewed. But after reading about @Marie Mallory 's problem with ongoing pain, I am so glad I have a PCP that I can call or email and I can see her right away for help. She is young but she listens to me.

Also, my previous PCP (who has since retired) was the person who initially found my breast cancer. So those annoying checkups often times have a real benefit. So I will keep griping about the "unnecessary" appointment but I will also keep going to them!! :D

All's well that ends well, Tony. I wish they could have found the cause of your shoulder pain, though. Hope your wife's appointment is uneventful!

Yesterday was another medical day my wife had a scheduled appointment for a echo cardiogram and I had an appointment later in the day with my Oncologist for the hormone pill that I'm taking.
I questioned my Oncologist about my internal tremors, my hot flashes, and my chills and she attributed all of them to the hormone pill. She could not attribute my back pain that's put me in the ER on Sunday to the pill so I still don't know what is causing it.

For the past 3 years or more maybe more our medical insurance company has been hounding us to have a wellness person come to the house and talk to us. While I was undergoing my radiation treatment we kind of gave in and said call us after the new year, figuring by then I would be done with all my cancer treatments.

The wellness person came this morning. She checked our vitals, asked a lot of questions, answered questions. My wife testing was different then mine. I was giving a cognitive test, which was like a children's game when I finished I wound up with a score of 35 which she was very surprised of. She said she's never had anybody score higher than 17. I said I cheated I had the answers written on my hand, she laughed. Because of my wheezing she gave me some kind of test where I had a blow into a little device with a fan and it registered I guess how strong my exhale was.
She did an exam with the stethoscope she said I had diminished bottom lung use. It kind of fits with my breathing problems.

I'm supposed to get the results of my breathing test in a week or so.

This has been a week of medical stuff. Tomorrow I have to go to the cardiologist's office for a test I forgot the name where they check the blood flow to the brain. This is the test I canceled last week but yesterday I rescheduled it while we were at the office for my wife's test. Boy are they going to be surprised "If I Only Had a Brain" ....... to be continued.

Your little black kitty avatar is so stickin' cute!! @Tony Page 🐈‍⬛ Did you end up keeping that little kitty? :giggle:
My daughter's friend adopted it. She loves him.
I saw a young orange/white cat outside in my driveway this afternoon. He/She stayed a long time before taking off. I tried to feed him, looked like he/she needed help. I left food, hope to see him again.

My daughter came home from work (she works in the school), with news that bothered her. The NY governor office issued a warning on what to do in case of a nuclear holocaust. Now she want to get our basement prepared just in case.

I did a little research this warning was 1st issued in 2022, with no eminent danger at that time. It looks like it was reissued. NY city is one of the high priority targets. With all of that I feel it's our Democrat government strategy is to turn Trump supporters by using fear.

Is Trump going to far? Will this escalate to include the big guns like Russia and China? So far most of the other Middle Eastern countries are supporting this effort. They to are as much concerned with the Iranian regime as Israel.

I believe the only thing that China and Russia are concerned about is their oil supply. I also think Trump would have assured them it wouldn't be affected. I also believe he got assurance that China and Russian would stay out. At least I hope so.

During Desert Storm we took over the whole of Iraq in 2 weeks with "Storming Norman." I realize this is a larger task because of the amount of missiles and weapons Iran has however I would like to see the United States paint a picture that Trump keeps saying "the strongest military in the world." don't want to see this war drag out where Taiwan is uncovered for any length of time that gives China ideas. From what I understand we only can handle two fronts at one time.

I'm sure they know what they're doing they got some Brilliant Minds in the military.

I believe the concern is more about hidden terrorist cells that are already in the USA and ready to activate. Not so much an attack from China or Russia, but from "the enemy within." Houston is also in a strike zone due to the high number of oil refineries and 6 million population in the metro area.

NYC would be a target for a dirty bomb or a bioweapon, but it is not on the target list for initial strikes from China or Russia. The thinking is that military targets would be taken first, such as what we are doing in Iran, infrastructure such as @Beth Gallagher alluded to would be next, and large cities would be held for "ransom", i.e., surrender or we take out your large cities. At least that is what I understand the thinking is now. I don't know what the idea is behind the nuclear warnings in New York are, but I would guess they are trying to distract you from thinking about something else, either the governmental failures in New York, or Trump's possible successes in Iran and elsewhere.

Terrorist cells are certainly a threat as so many Iranians, even KNOWN terrorists were allowed to enter the country under Biden.

I understand and I can agree that there are sleeper cells throughout the country, however they use the term nuclear Holocaust that's not from a Sleeper Cell. I really believe it's a scare tactic to put Trump in a bad light.

I got an email from Macy's yesterday showing the new trend in women's shoes for this coming spring.

One of the shoes they showed looks to me like a Chinese puzzle. How do you get your foot in that?

I don't! I know how it is done, but I won't tell because it is a well guarded secret, just like putting on a crazy design monokini. I think women designed these to have something special that transgenders and cross dressers couldn't figure out. The male brain can't comprehend the maneuver necessary to don these glass heels.

It's crazy!!!
I may be a male chauvinist oinker I don't ever remember visually getting that far down to notice womens shoes. Maybe I made it to the net stockings. Haha!!! Now that I'm thinking of it do women even wear pantyhose anymore?
Well, good to see old Hal, former SOC foot fetishman, didn't influence you. No pantyhose for me! Leggings are the thing these days.
