The Best Thing That Happened To Me Today

I created this thread in another forum I used to be a member of, maybe 20 years ago, and it did fairly well.

It's a place to share little things...

"I got a letter from a friend"

"I found a book I have been looking for"

"I finally got that cabinet painted"

As well as the big things...

"I'm cancer free"

"My son graduated college"

"I got a promotion at work"

So anyway, I'll start.

The best thing to happen to me today is, I ran into my daughter leaving the gym as I was going in this morning. Three big hugs and an I love you.

I got my car inspected at the dealer today that last year recommended I get my rear brakes done, and I declined the service. This year they recommended front and rear brakes. I asked if they passed inspection. "Yes." I declined the service. I went in prepared to spend some money and left with cash still in my pocket. I'm not sure I'll go back.

The morning is still new at the moment. As ambulance went thru our street at 7:20 this morning, I could not help but wonder if the young woman waiting on a liver transplant is okay? Something like this always makes me be grateful for everyday left.
The good thing for me today- I finished all taxes and feel so much better. My leg is still a bit kinky feeling but I am moving cane free indoors for a change. I have energy today, sleptogg and raring go...um, I will need to be very careful:)

I had a breakthrough at the gym this morning. I've been nursing along for the last three weeks on the treadmill with an irritating shin split, limiting my time.

Well, today, at about the 20 minute mark, it just... went away. I can't explain it, wasn't expecting it. The pain was just gone.

Heck, I ramped up the speed and went a full hour, going 4k. Really good, satisfying cardio session.
