I've had a few in the early 1970's another in the 80's, none since.
1974 I was working the line at GM having babysitter problems for kids so I let them visit their father and his wife in Jax,Fl. for 2 weeks, Ages, daughters were 5,3 and son 2.
Son had a mild cold when they left Atlanta for Jacksonville.
I was out with two of my friends, 'one since childhood' at a club waiting for my cousin across the street to get off work. Both worked for Delta Airlines.
I heard one of my kids cry, 'Momma', I jumped up screamed, "something is wrong with one my kids".
I ran past several phones to my cousin across the street, she said ," Marie call your momma son is in hospital in bad shape".I didn't call anyone, I was right there at the airport, so I ran across the street to a Ligour store to cash my GM check. He said I don't cash checks, I told him he has to, I have to get a plane ticket to my son, He saw I was in bad shape and cashed check.
I then flag cab to airport terminal ran in and plane to jax in now boarding. Run up up agent tell them I have to get on that plane NOW, she said,' no tickets left, man in front of me just bought last ticket, by now I'm hysterical and telling agent I have to get to my son ,the man said " let her have my ticket, I snatched the ticket and ran to the plane.
At Jax airport I flagged a taxi, told him get me to Orange Park , he kept saying he couldn't drive faster I threw money over seat and screamed I'll pay for the ticket, he said,' it was dangerous to drive that fast', I thought it was taking forever but actually I made record time to getting to that hospital.
Doctors said my son had died at the rime I heard him calling me, [ THANK GOODNESS HE DIDN'T and now is a 54 year old healthy senior].
Although I didn't know which kid it was, I knew one of my kids were in serious trouble. At hospital son was in oxygen tent and still on life support. I didn't leave his sight for days and made sure my other kids were there with us at hospital.
I know there is a spirit world right here in earth.

I definitely believe that we have angels watching over us, and saving our lives, when sometimes we do not even realize there has been divine intervention. I think that sometimes, we are given warnings, which we can either heed or not listen to, but sometimes, I think that God just sends angels to look after us.

I was in a terrible car accident that I know I should not have survived, but somehow walked away from. I was driving my little Yugo hatchback, which is similar to a small Ford Escort hatchback, and was on I-5 , heading home from the Seattle area late one night, with my ex-husband.
A drunk driver in a 3/4 ton pickup with heavy metal racks hit the back of the yugo, doing over 100 mph, and locked on to the back of my little car, pushing it sideways over the steep bank and off the freeway .

I didn’t know what happened at first, and then realized that we had been hit hard from behind, but I didn’t know the truck was locked onto the back of my car and I thought I could maybe keep it on the road. The truck was pulling me sideways and off the road, and when we went over that steep bank, and rolled end over end, I just thought it was the end of my life, and didn’t expect to live through it.

We rolled end over end and then sideways, and landed upside down at the bottom of the bank with the truck on top of the car. I realized that I was still alive, but could not move, I was squished in tight between the seat and the dash of the car.
Truck drivers who had been behind us on the freeway saw the whole thing, called for police and came down to see if they could help us.
My ex was able to crawl out of his window (which was all gone), and then they pulled me out through that window, too; since my side of the car was too crushed for me to get out that side.

We both walked up the side of the embankment, were taken to the hospital and then released, and went back to my in-laws house, which is where we had been coming home from that night.
The next day, when we saw the car, we realized how bad the wreck was, and my daughter just started crying when she saw how close we had been to dying.

I know that there is no way that I should have even survived that crash, let alone both of us walk away from the vehicle, and even giving credit to seat belts, it was a miracle in my life that we survived.

@Marie Mallory , such a strong example of the bond between mother and child.
Some might claim it to be mother's intuition, gut feeling, divine intervention or one of many explanations. Whatever it was you knew.
Im pleased your son was ok eventually.

We've all heard about the mum's that are able to lift a car to save their trapped child from under it.
Where on earth does that strength come from ?

Marie, your account reminds me about something that happened with a woman in the late 80's.
A family of four mum, dad , son and daughter. The kids were teens.

One Saturday the mum and daughter went to the pictures and the dad and son went to a football match.

Mid way through the film , the mum couldn't breathe. She felt as though her lungs were being crushed and she knew that it was her son.
Sadly it was her son who died in a terrible tragedy at the stadium where lots of people lost their lives that day.

But she knew , she felt the very breath being taken from him.
So sad.

@Yvonne Smith ,
Likewise, I find your account quite amazing.
Having lost family members and also neighbours in road traffic accidents I also wonder how on earth you walked away from that carnage.

You certainly had someone watching over you that day.
