Pet Peeves

I don't know if this is a pet peeve, but it is aggravating to me. I can't seem to find a pair of pants that isn't wide leg. Good grief, I think I can get both of my legs in one pant leg! And what's up with clothing companies calling the opening of the bottom of pants itty bitty boot cut pants. Those pants are definitely not boot cut! They are bell bottoms! I guess I am just too hard to please. Stay tuned, I can rant about a lot of stuff.:D

There is a world between bell bottoms and wide leg. LL Bean may work for you. All the mainstream denim sells boot cut. Even Walmart has a wearable new line. Levi’s were under $25 on Amazon yesterday. Trouser cut works for me. Very high waist and tapered below the knee. What are you really looking for?
I will have the dubious pleasure to get SO out of his beloved Wranglers next week:)

I wouldn't think most people would have habits built around barn doors, though.

I could fix it, but my wife tells you you're not allowed to beat the hired help anymore in Maine. I blame the unions.
She was undoubtedly repeatedly reprimanded (as I was) by one or both parents for leaving the door open by using that phrase, “YOU WEREN’T BORN IN A BARN,,,CLOSE THE DOOR !!!

And alas, you expose her to her greatest fear: A Open Barn Door.

One of my pet peeves: Employers who mistreat their employees.

I'm happy for this employee who got back at her employer for humiliating her:

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — A former waitress has settled her lawsuit against Hooters, the restaurant that gave her a toy Yoda doll instead of the Toyota she thought she’d won.
Jodee Berry, 27, won a beer sales contest last May at the Panama City Beach Hooters. She believed she had won a new Toyota and happily was escorted to the restaurant’s parking lot in a blindfold.
But when the blindfold was removed, she found she had won a new toy Yoda — the little green character from the "Star Wars" movies.

David Noll, her attorney, said Wednesday that he could not disclose the settlement’s details, although he said Berry can now go to a local car dealership and "pick out whatever type of Toyota she wants."

After the stunt, Berry quit the restaurant and filed a lawsuit against Gulf Coast Wings, Inc., the restaurant’s corporate owner, alleging breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation.
The restaurant’s manager, Jared Blair, had said the whole contest was an April Fools’ joke.

Since it happened in 2002, I hope she picked out the most expensive Toyota available at the time, which means the settlement was around $20,000.00 - $25,000.00. ( I know because in 2002, I bought a new Toyota Camry),

Some people just can't take a joke. I think the toy Yoda was a pretty funny one. I would have laughed and conceded that it was a good one, but then, I would have been left with a toy Yoda doll.

Makes one wonder if there was a history there. One can imagine how some of the managers might be.

I used to go to the local Hooters back north, and nearly all the waitresses were students at the local university. For all the hand-wringing over that place, the outfits are not really that big of a deal. They had good bar food (wings, etc) and great but expensive oysters (raw, smoked, fried.)

I love jokes. But I would never humiliate or disrespect someone for a laugh. Nothing funny about making a fool out of someone. I consider this situation humiliating. The restaurant got exactly what they deserved.

I have my share of pet peeves. My problem is by the time I get around to getting on this form and posting them, I have forgotten what they were.🙄😂🙄😂.

I guess I could say that forgetting what my pet peeves were when they happened and not remembering them to post them, is at the top of the list of my pet peeves🥸🥸
Yeh, it's funny that I feel annoyed by others so often, but when it comes to enumerating the triggering events, I draw a blank. Obviously, those people are falling short of leaving a lasting impression, 'cause it couldn't possibly be me!

Restaurants that don't let you look at the online menu unless you start an order. 🤬 GRRRRRRR. I don't want to "register an account" on your stupid website so you can spam my email, and I don't want to place an order. I want to SEE THE MENU.

Also, stop pushing your damn app. I don't want another freakin' APP CLUTTERING UP MY PHONE. My eyesight is terrible and I can't even see a stupid app.

And for the last time...get off my lawn.

The number of people who install a ton of apps on their phones so they can get a 50¢ discount on random burgers and tacos astounds me. They even have apps that go through your stuff to plug the money leaks from all the "subscriptions" you have but are unaware of because they get tacked on to your phone bill.

I used to do Contracts for a living. I read the agreements before installing an app. It stinks that a simple birdwatching app demands access to so much of my private stuff. So the only app I have on my phone is Walmart, and the only reason I installed it is because they are pretty much the only game in town and it makes figuring out if they carry an item (and where it is) easy. Even Kroger is offering sales only to people who download their app. I don't need to save $3 that badly.

I only have a Walmart app too. That's it! I use it on those occasions when I do grocery "pick-up". I used to have the Kroger app too but I got sick and tired of scanning every damn thing that I wanted just to get the sale price, as I walked through the store to get my grocery items. 🐂:poop: to that!

I did not know the Kroger app made you take that step. I figured it was just some Next Level Insider's Club. Kroger used to mail me coupons (regular USPS mail) once a month for items I purchase regularly, like generic produce. They stopped doing that a few months ago. At some point it might make sense for some people to get a separate phone with its own number for all of this stuff and keep it in a Faraday bag until they're shopping at those stores/restaurants.

I use the Walmart app in other stores because I can scan the Bar Code on any product that Walmart carries and the app will give me Walmart's price and tell me if it's in stock.

Have y'all seen that new "product locator" function that the Walmart app has? Apparently when you're searching for an item in the store, you can pull it up on the app and it will flash a blue blinking light on the shelf so you can find it. (I have not tried this yet, but I do spend a lot of time hunting stuff on the shelf.)

Just wait until you see the blue flashing light after you leave the store.
