A couple of weeks before we moved out of our Henderson apartment, we put in a Forwarding/Change of Address to the Post Office. It would start the day we arrived in Loveland. Don't know why previous residents of the apartment we moved into, don't put a Change of Address into the Post Office, but apparently, they don't. For about a year after we moved to Henderson, we were getting mail for the previous resident/residents of the apartment we were living in. Now it is happening here in Loveland. In Henderson, even though we put on the Change of Address form, only our names, and our last name was taped to the inside of the mailbox, mail was still being delivered to us with a previous resident/residents name on it.

We have never had this before, but, since signing up with the Post Office "Informed Mail Delivery", we see, thru our e-mail and on our iPhone what will be delivered to our mailbox. Again, our last name/apt. number is taped to the inside of the mailbox. Unlike in Henderson, we don't get (in our mailbox) a previous residents mail, but on the "Informed Mail Delivery" it does show up.

So, why don't people put in a Forwarding/Change of Address Form when they move??? Probably the same reason some, not all, young people, get a notice in the mail to renew their vehicle registration, but don't do it. Vehicle won't pass smog, don't have the money or simply don't care? Or, they mess with the registration tags to make it look like the registration is correct. In Henderson, we noticed a LOT of expired registration tag (year) as well as quite a number of vehicles with no license plate on at all. Now we are seeing some of the same thing here.

We have the same thing. You are probably still registered to vote in Nevada as well, and may get mail-in ballots from that state as well as Colorado. Somehow they get your new address for the ballot when you move, but they don't change your residency on the voting rolls. One of our sons was registered to vote in three states at one time and he could not seem to get that changed. It allows fraud to proceed.
 
At first, my wife wanted to keep our Henderson phone number, but I talked her into changing it and getting a Colorado number. From what I understand, only "Snowbirds" keep the number of their main residence. We have a friend who spends winters at his home in Florida and summers mostly at his other home (a lake cottage) in Michigan. He keeps his Michigan number as his only phone number.
 
I kept my cell# when I moved. Why would I change it? There are lots of folks whose cell area codes are nowhere near their current residence. It's kind of an upside to cell#s that they travel with you.
