@Marie Mallory Duane, many thanks for the update and finally getting hospice involved and your mother in a good facility where she can get some rest and not be in agony. This is a very sad time for all us here, but a relief to me that she is in good care. Hugs to all!
@Jake Smith Get some rest now. You did an amazing job caring for her and trying to fulfill her wishes. Being a caretaker is a most difficult job.

Mom is now sleeping a lot! She will nod her head when we are asking if she needs anything in general and reach out to grab our hands when she hears our voice. Oh, how we miss hearing her voice and stories!!! Jake has been beside her every minute and she reaches for him the most! Thank you all for the continued prayers! Marie and Jake have made you all family on this forum and speak highly of each of you! (Theresa and their other daughter Melissa....Theresa typing)

I told Jake give her a hug, from you Kate, and thank you for the kind words from Austrailia.I’ve never spoken to our dear @Marie Mallory cause we live so far away , but we often had a chat on the old original forum , I remember when Marie was chatting about adopting her very spoilt fur kids ( dogs ) and showed photo of being in a boat
I’m guessing none of us have ever met in person but it’s sure breaking our hearts hearing of the suffering Marie is going through ..it’s just so unfair and cruel
I’m sure you will read this to Marie for me @Jake Smith and plase give her a hug all the way from Australia xxx

Theresa and Melissa--I'm so glad you are both able to be with your mother and Jake; I know what a terrible time this is for all of you. Marie and Jake are definitely part of the forum family and we miss Marie posting music videos, and her stories of treks into the woods to kill vines, and her stories about her children and grandchildren who she adores. She is a genuine character and it's awfully quiet around here lately.
Jake, I know you want to be close to Marie, so grab a nap while she is sleeping. We are all thinking of you both and wishing we could help in some way.

Update Marie passed today, 3 pm 7-11-2026, in Haven Hospice, which was, very wonderful people, up to the last day. My whole world is shattered and I know; I will never be the same. I'm at the point of wondering if the tears will ever dry up now.

I am so very sorry for your loss, Jake. Marie will be missed by all of us; thank you for letting us know. Your heart must be broken in two.
