"Marie", has a new primary care "Doctor" now

Update we were up again 3am, due to Marie in severe pain; so decided to go to ER for the cat scan they recommended for her. Got there around 5 am and they took her back for the cat scan, told us she has a cancer mass at T12- another S1, and that it ate away at her tail bone; and she needs MRI which they could do at 7:30 am, so we stayed and they took her to room, and couple hours later did MRI, and it said same thing two cancer masses, at T12- S1, kidney stone right kidney, and other things, I'm no Dr.; so as we learn more I will try and keep y'all informed.

The female Dr. said no nerve damage; which I asked, where is pain coming from, she said the cancer masses, and the cancer eating the tail bone into. Marie made a appt. back with primary care Dr. when we got back; which will be this Sat., to see what we should do next.

So, they are finally doing some tests and finding out what is causing the pain, that is a good thing; but finding a cancer diagnosis is terrible. They will probably be sending you to a specialist, Marie, so that they can treat the cancer in the best way.
At least now you have a better idea of why you are in so much pain and what is causing it.
Sending you love, hugs, and prayers that your doctors will be able to help you start hurting less and feeling better soon, dear Friend !

I am so sorry to hear of Marie's diagnosis, Jake. I have to admit, I was afraid of something like this because muscle strains just don't behave the way Marie's pain does. The "good" news is that many times bone cancers can be treated with radiation only. But of course you'll have to see an oncologist to get all the details on the type of cancer, where it originated, etc.

I hate that Marie is facing treatment but I'm glad y'all finally got an answer. We'll all be cheering for you both. Sending hugs to you.

Marie, I'm not sure just how much fight I want what I'm looking for is less pain, more so than more time.
I'm in no hurry to go but then if staying is bad?
I agree and speaking for myself, it is about quality time over long time suffering. We know at our age, we don't have a lot of years left in a best case scenario, so I say best to be out of pain best we can and perhaps live shorter, than to suffer in agony and live longer. However that is a personal decision that no one else can or should make for you.

I hope your PCP gets you to an Oncologist real soon like in a few days. Pain management is part of their specialty. I hope that they offer the option of having a spinal if any surgery is indicated. That is the route I took over other antesesia that requires high doses of pain meds after you wake up. I felt very little for 3 days and then it was so mild that I used heat and ice pack to ease back discomforts.

I hope removing those tumors will give you some degree of pain relief, if that route is an option.

When I first went in for MRI they gave me ear plugs to since it is so loud.
30 minutes later when they took me out, rolled me into the hall, I couldn't hear, so I told them the MRi messed up my hearing, they said take out the ear. plugs, see if that helps. I did,it did.
Marie,
I just read the results this morning and I'm sick. I haven't felt this sad in a long time, I'm at a loss. I'm going to pray for you as hard as I can and as often as I can. Focus On Healing.

If you need anything I'm here,
Tony

Fate, 'at this point in time' I'm not looking for any surgery or treatment, just pain relief.
I'm 76 and although in no hurry for an exit, also no logic in time with pain.
My 2 daughters are on the way here now to visit, 56 and 57 yr olds. They ask if I need help around house, lol, not really, they don't know what to say

Bobby and I have discussed this as well, regarding our age and health issues, and neither of us want to go through a long process of treatment anymore, and neither of us want to die in a hospital either. I can totally understand your feelings about not wanting to go through painful cancer treatment, and just have something that takes care of the pain.
We are praying for you , too, and hoping that you will be feeling better soon, however it happens.

Thank you both for the prayors.:)

I only mentioned the surgery to remove the spinal tumors, because that has been reported to give the greatest pain relief. Some doctors won't touch removing cancerous tumors until one undergoes radiation or chemo. I hope your doctors will do what is best to relieve your pain quick as possible.
