Why Are Canadians So Angry With America

It sounds like there is nothing left up there but State-run news.
 
I couldn't watch the entire video, but part of the anti-America feeling in the world is our own fault. American tourists always expect the residents of other countries to speak English. Why? I can understand hotel people who cater to American tourists needing to speak the language of their customers, but I don't expect everybody in , say, France, Spain, Japan, or elsewhere to be English-speakers. Rick Steves, an American who supposedly is an "authority on Europe" does not speak another language even though he has been making his living in Europe for 25 years. Even many of our diplomats don't speak the language of the nations in which they are stationed. Language attitude is one problem.

Another has historically been the fact that our standard of living is generally higher than every place else on the planet since our founding 250 years ago. During WWII, the Aussies had a phrase to describe their problems with American military personnel stationed there--Americans were "overpaid, oversexed and over here."

We do sometimes become a bully, but we are often forced to be so by circumstances, but the British were much worse during their Empire Period, they just didn't care, and many Americans don't really care either. The Canadian who posted on here about tariffs had no idea that the tariffs Canada placed on America were far, far worse than anything Trump or any other American President has done.

As far as the M.A.I.D in Canada is concerned, it has been under consideration almost since the healthcare system was nationalized there. If they can get people to agree to die, or in some cases be killed without their permission under "medical" or "humanitarian" reasoning, the government can save a great deal of money if they can rid society of non-productive people.
 
Why Americans can expect France, Spain Japan or anywhere in Europe to speak English? It is generally part of basic curriculum starting at 5th grade.

No language is basic curriculum across the U.S. I don't think it is so in much of Latin America, but Europeans often speak several languages because of their situation. Many of the Hispanic illegals cannot speak English when they arrive and continue to live their lives in Spanish, Espanol, or Castellano for years after they arrive. A lot of Japanese can speak English but seldom do, and almost no Americans are fluent in Japanese.
 
Funny how the same idiots who expect others to speak our language when in their own countries consider it to be "cultural oppression" to do the same when they move here.

Regarding MAID: I read that the death rate (deaths per 100,000 citizens) from MAID is significantly higher than (near double?) our death rate from firearms. It's approaching 100,000 citizens, which is roughly the number of Canadians who lost their lives fighting in WW2. There are horror stories of people being pushed into the program, and others being killed against their will.

Don, you cited Spain, France, Japan and other European countries. Languages are required curriculum and generally starts with English with more to come.
I do not hang out with illegals but have quite a few friends in the Latino, Thai, Vietnamese community. It is often easier to fall back on your native language as English does not always offer the cultural/historical/political nuances. We speak English in public and with English speaking friends/company. Not at home. Just an example - Herzog means duke while in Bavaria it is a cuss word. My Japanese is beyond rusty but it did the job when we lived in Little Tokyo in Alabama, basically corporate housing for Toyota.
