Most of us mothers have suffered from some degree of "post-partum" depression, but just get on with it. We certainly do not consider killing our children as a solution.

Doesn't matter to me if she had PPD, was mentally ill, or semi retarded. She carefully planned these murders, clearly premeditation, and then executed all 3 in a most horrible way.

If she wanted to commit suicide, then she would have hung herself or put a bag over her head. She would have died the way she killed her children. The snow was harder than she thought, so she was injured. She should have been left to die in the snow or some good Samaritan should have put a plastic bag over her evil head. A good Samaritan, because they took out an evil person that serves no good living.

She has no case and deserves no mercy or forgiveness. The death sentence as administered these days is much to good for her, but better than tax payer dollars going to house and provide food and medical for this evil person or attempts to rehabilitate this one that deserves a painful death to send a message to all the evil people that do horrible things to children.

The attempt to portrait the suicide as "faked" was shaky as she allegedly threw herself out a second-story window, not the usual way to fake a suicide. Who knows? The cuts certainly could be a fake attempt.

She knew very well where her carotid artery is located. She didn't want to accidentally cut it and actually die.

Yeah. I didn't want to kill mine until they were teenagers. (And somehow I still managed to let them live! )

I have not followed this trial. When someone murders or molests a child, a trial should only be about whether or not they committed the crime. We don't need people on Earth who do this kind of thing, so I don't care if they're mentally ill or not. It seems like an odd question, anyhow. Anyone who murders their children has to be mentally ill, but this shouldn't mean they are not guilty of the crime or that they deserve to live amongst the rest of us.

That is my thought as well. So IMO it should not even be a defence.

Being bat-shit crazy should not be a defense for committing any crime .... let alone killing children.

I have known two women that suffered from PPD, one took her own life, and one seldom came out of her bedroom, [that one] even still is very withdrawn. And her youngest is 35-36? Oldest is 40?
