Kitchen Gadgets

I remember a thread on the original site where one of the guys (Hal, Bill Boggs, or one of those guys) posted a pic of his Kitchamajig.

I just used mine the other day to fish out small raviolis. I wish I had known it was a vintage item...I wouldn't have run it through the dishwasher. But it still works fine.

I have one of those, but mine has the black "bakelite" (??) handle.

Argh. Amazon is toying with my emotions. The fancy Instant Pot is on sale for $40 off right now. I'm glad I didn't buy it for full price; I'd be pissed. I'm still resisting... :D

In other news, I ordered a new french press coffeemaker.
Dare I ask how many coffee makers you have now? Didn't you pick up an old school percolator along the way? I should get one to use over my gas range for power outages instead of boiling water and pouring it over the grounds.

LOL. I have "several" coffeemakers. Let's see...
2 drip pots (Chemex glass and old-style stainless),
Bunn electric "speed brew",
2 electric percolators (one "vintage" 1970's Sunbeam),
3 Keurigs (one in use, one from the motorhome kitchen, one new in box "just in case"),
a really old Pyrex glass stovetop percolator,
an old 30-cup urn electric "party size" percolator,
a Bodum glass french press.

I think that's all. 😬:coffee:

The new one is a Stanley insulated 48 oz french press that's supposed to keep coffee hot for 4 hours.

I have mentioned elsewhere that Walmart now has a program similar to Amazon Vine, where you can be an invited product reviewer and receive products to test out and review.
One of the new things that I just ordered is a meat tenderizer machine, which will turn thinner pieces of meat into cubed steaks. When I showed it to @Bobby Cole , he said that he would definitely like having one and would use it, so I ordered it last night.
We have been finding the manager specials on meat at Kroger when we go on Tuesdays, so if we find some round steak on closeout, then Bobby can try out the tenderizer.

When we use to butcher beef, we always ran the round steaks through a tenderizer. It does make good tender cube steaks! :)

I'm so excited!! A couple of years ago Kitchenaid introduced a limited edition stand mixer with a WOOD mixing bowl (solid walnut). It's the most gorgeous thing ever, with copper accents and a price tag of $800... so an easy pass for a tilt-head mixer. I found out recently that the walnut bowl is available as a separate purchase, but with limited availability. Each time I looked for one they have been sold out, but I finally snagged one! littleb.gif

It's supposed to arrive on Saturday. I don't plan to actually use the bowl but it will be a "display only" feature. :ROFLMAO:

I have seen those. They are beautiful!!!

The walnut bowl for my mixer came and it is really gorgeous. Of course now that it's here I am hit with the reality of "where am I going to put this?" My kitchen cabinets are maxed out as is my overflow storage cabinet in the garage. If I put the wood bowl on the mixer, then I have no place for the hammered copper bowl that's currently on the mixer. 😵‍💫

I need to start thinking these things through, seriously. I'm going to call my daughter and see if she would like the walnut bowl for her mixer. Since the bowls are hard to get I hate to return it.

You may want to check Amazon.
