Rather than spreading my nonsense all over the forum, I guess I should start a thread here where I can vomit up the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else.
Well, I just learned a new word. Never heard of "Whinge." Here, we call it "Whine." "Would you like some cheese with your whine?"
And a few years ago, I learned another one - "Whilst."

When I kept bees, I always encouraged dandelions since they were one of the first real wild flowers to bloom here and produced a dark, almost molasses-like honey. The only thing earlier than dandelions are the willow trees, which produce a good bit of pollen but no nectar. We don't have a lot of green vegetation here yet, but it's beginning. A couple of crocuses have come and gone but they are the only flowering plants so far. the lilies and the peonies are sprouting, trees are budding, and our lawn, such as it is, is beginning to green up. We have some bulb plants coming up, and that's always a surprise because, by spring, I have generally forgotten what I had planted in the fall. A dandelion was flowering in my garden and I was going to pull it when I noticed a bee working it, and realize that was pretty much the only flower around, so I let it be, for now.
