How To Turn Off SOC Emails

Yeah. I sort of hate that things default to "pepper my email with BS that I don't want" but I just chalk that up to the cost of doing business.

I'm not complaining (ok, maybe I am 😜) but I dealt with it. I'm not sure why anyone would want that stuff myself. I wonder how often it triggers spam-management algorithms, causing people to miss things like more important administrative communication from the site?

I don't want to deal with it though. I had so many emails I never found the bottom. "Not all from SOC of course but many were. Now I know how to avoid it.
 
I don't know if anyone else is seeing this, but I get a large dump of Notification emails around 10:30PM and then again roughly an hour later. They are always for old posts, some as old as 18 hours. Then there are stragglers a couple of hours later that are 6 hours or so old. I do get 1 or 2 emails that I can see are real-time, but those are in the wee hours of the morning (3AM, give or take.) I don't get any Notifications during the day or evening. It seems as if the function is only enabled from 10PM through 5AM or so and the backlog is pushed out.

I don't really care since I check the Reminders icon. Just though I'd point it out, and wonder if my email server might be at fault.

No need... Here's how members can change that themselves, regardless of whether it Default or not..

Scroll to the top, Click on your name and you will see a mini profile and you will be on the Your Account tab, Click on Account Details and on the Right Side Panel you will see something like this:

Username: Your Name
Email: Your Email Address
Email Options:
[Check \ Tic Box] Receive News and Update Emails
[Check \ Tic Box] Receive Activity Summary Email

Uncheck those two Options, and you won't get any more forum emails. ✌️
