Has this got something to do with "Trump"; wanting to buy "Greenland"?

I saw this video the other day, and I can't help but wonder if it's the reason behind them trying harder to purchase Greenland. After watching the video they said the US blames Finland, Finland blames Greenland and no one wants to spend what it would "cost", to clean up the Nuclear waste left behind by US in Greenland, which "who" thought it would be buried under ice forever. I'm not so sure about it myself, but figured some of you more informed folks, may have a better "insight", about it.

I never heard of this, I'll watch the video.

It's a new one on me, but the US has had a lot of military presence there for a long time off and on. I recently heard it goes back at post to the years following the Civil War.

Clearly even more than that. Remember that movie "National Treasure" ad the ship "Charlotte?" That subplot isn't entirely fictional. Interest in Greenland predates 1776.

This is all new to me. Who was interested before 1776? The Vikings, lol.I may have been able to tell you a few years ago, but since it seems I'm getting senile, forgot some things, like more about history than most people ever knew or wanted to know. I loved the study.

We don’t have a place for “rabbit holes” and conspiracies (yet ?) , so I will try not to go there until Ken says we can do that, but I am going to at least tiptoe around it.
If you look at the old maps of the North Pole, you can see that they show an actual place that IS at the center of the arctic circle, and there is some kind of an island that is/isn’t actually there because it is not shown anymore.
Airplanes can’t fly right over the North Pole, so if it is there, you can’t fly over and see it. It is called “Rupes Nigra” , which means black rock.
So, if there is something more there, it is being kept a secret for some purpose.

Back in the early 60’s , my mom had a book called “The Hollow Earth”, and it was about Admiral Richard Byrd, the explorer. She said that she remembered back when he was going to the arctic circle, and they broadcast it on the radio each day for people to hear what Admiral Byrd was finding on his exploration, and how everything was going.
When he started reporting closer to the North Pole, they suddenly cut off the radio broadcasts, and she always wondered what he had found that they wanted kept secret.
When she bought the Hollow Earth book, it talks about this, and what might have been covered up.
This is what the old Mercator map of the North Pole shows.

Maybe that's another reason Trump wants Greenland, nuke waste could also affect the environment around us too, either way nobody wants any nation to be exposed to nuclear waste.
I also don't know if it is real although I don't see a reason to clain Eisenhower was involved too.

I have no idea if the video is true or not, @Jake Smith , so I do not know if it has anything to do with President Trump’s reasons for wanting control of Greenland. He has apparently worked out the perfect deal that he was shooting for, and now we will have to just wait and see what he does with the country as far as building military bases.

My thought was that there is probably more to the story than we have any idea of, and if they did build a base way back then, there was probably a good reason for them doing that.
There may still be things that are happening there, and we just have not heard of them.
I do know that my mother listened to Admiral Byrd’s radio broadcasts when he was exploring in the arctic, and when he found something that they didn’t want made public, they stopped the radio broadcasts of the exploration, and no reason was ever given.

There are ideas that people have about what Byrd found, and what is actually there, but they would have to go into a conspiracy thread, since they are not part of provable facts, at least at this point in time.
I didn’t want to go into conspiracy and take your thread off topic, but once Ken has a place for that, then I can write about some of the theories that people have about why Greenland and the North Pole are so important.

I haven't heard about the deal, Yvonne do you have a link or video? It would be good if they did reach a deal.

I posted about it in the other Greenland thread, @Marie Mallory .

Basically, President Trump did what he always does. He asked for way more than he wanted, and said we would do whatever it took to get it, and let the liberal news channels run with the story and blow it up to crazy proportions.
Then , he announced that if he didn’t get what he wanted, he would put tariffs on all the countries that didn’t support it, and that was blown up in the liberal newspapers, too.

When he went to Davos to the WEF conference , they offered him the right to do whatever he wants in Greenland, build any military stuff he wants to build, and he didn’t have to pay Denmark anything, and Denmark has to keep on financially supporting the Greenland people.
So, as always, Trump got just what he wanted and needed, and it didn’t cost us anything.

Some info on this,

'The United States feared a Soviet nuclear attack via the polar route. In a single summer, some 120 ships and 12,000 men were deployed to a bay that had previously known only the silent glide of kayaks. Greenland’s population at the time numbered barely 23,000 people. In just 104 days, on permanently frozen ground, a technological city capable of hosting giant B-36 bombers carrying nuclear warheads emerged. More than 1,200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, and in almost total secrecy, the United States built one of the largest military bases ever constructed outside its continental territory. A defence agreement was signed with Denmark in the spring of 1951, but Operation Blue Jay was already underway: the American decision had been taken in 1950.
