The so-called journalist Don Lemon is in danger of spending years in Federal prison because he violated a long-standing civil rights law that was passed to fight the KKK and is even entitled The Klan Act. The Klan used to barge into worship services in Black churches, and a law was passed to make that illegal. Lemon, a Black man, helped to lead a demonstration into a mostly White church in Minneapolis thinking he was protected by the First Amendment. The Constitution does NOT specifically protect demonstrators but courts since have expanded it to mean that PEACEFUL demonstrations fall under that amendment. That expansion specifically excludes disruption of peaceful gatherings and religious services. It also excludes barring access to public facilities and obstructing law enforcement in performance of their duties. I don't know what will become of all this nonsense, but it is ironic that a Black man violated The Klan Act on MLK Day.

Yeah, I am sure he was relying on that as well as the Justice Department being overwhelmed as the corruption investigation widens. There have now been over 10,000 illegals arrested since the investigation in Minnesota began, 70% were violent criminals and 30% are illegals with no criminal history but association with the criminals. ICE says the 30% would not have been arrested if Minnesota had allowed them to arrest and deport the "illegal criminals" when they were held in jail. When ICE had to go into neighborhoods to apprehend the violent people, any who were found living with them were also arrested if they were in the country illegally.

Also, most of the rioting mess could have been nipped in the bud with assistance from local and state police agencies. I think treason should be charged for those opposing federal law enforcement.

I don't know about treason, but Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice should certainly be on the table, as well as Inciting To Riot. I have no legal background, but I listen to what legal scholars are saying. If the mayor and the governor were arrested and convicted, much of this would stop.

That is so typical of how the liberal news reports everything, isn’t it !
I think they just ignore facts and write what they want to. It is like when President Trump was shot during the rally, and they were reporting it as “Trump falls when on stage”. Like he was clumsy and tripped or something.
The gunshots were “loud noise at the Trump rally scares people”.
These seem to be some pretty serious charges, and it will likely continue to be in the news, so more about what happened should be coming out, even on the msm news channels.
 
He was in violation of at least two Federal laws, I have no idea what he will be charged with. It should not be difficult for the MSM to find out the charges if they really wanted to do so, as it should be public record if he was arrested and charged. They just want to make it look like he is randomly arresting "journalists" for stuff covered by the First Amendment which disrupting a church service is not. It was a technique used by the KKK.
 
The people who were there at the church service have been speaking up about that happened at the church. Some of the church people are saying they at first thought it was going to be a shooting and were terrified. The stairways were blocked by the protestors who were at the church, so the parents could not get to the children, and the children were being told terrible things about their parents, and they were crying and totally terrified because they could not get to their mom and dad.

One lady ended up with a broken arm from the attack, and they said it will never heal right so that she can use it again. She is 70 years old, and this is not the kind of thing that senior citizens should have to have to go through , especially when they are at church.

Don Lemon is on video telling people that he can’t say where they are going becasue it has to be a secret and a surprise attack, but he already knows all of what is about to happen and where they are going.
He is definitely part of the whole thing, and not just an observing journalist.
 
The whole thing may wind up going through the Supreme Court for another decision regarding the separation of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press.

On one hand, Lemon keeps citing his Journalistic Credentials as though it’s a “get out of jail free” card but Freedom of the Press allows him no more legal privileges that can’t be afforded an every day citizen.

If he wants to cite Freedom of Speech then he absolutely can but the intermixing of Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of Peaceful assembly have canceled each other out due to an unpermitted protest assembly. Added to that the “assembly” happened at a religious gathering on private property for which, as @Don Alaska explained, has opened up a whole different can of worms.

Imagine how frightened those church members were by all that intimidation and noise, especially the children and old people. How can any sane person justify that? He and all the other terrorists should have to pay a huge fine and spend at least some time behind bars. ... preferably in the same cell with the criminals they are defending.... at night with the lights turned off.... and the guards asleep.

It must have been terrifying, especially knowing of all the church shootings in the past few years. Those people had no idea what was going to happen to them, and in the "safety" of a church. Plus, the demonstrators blocked the children in another part of the building from reaching their parents. Just despicable.
