An apology

Good morning to all-

It seems that in his infinite wisdom the Honorable Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama has proposed that President's Day holiday be renamed "Donald J. Trump Day"...

Friends, I did not vote for this yahoo who emerged from the wilds of south Arkansas- "Coach" Tommy Tuberville- but since I am a resident of the Great State of Alabama, I feel that an apology to the rest of the nation is in order. I'm sorry for his daily exhibited ignorance.

But... at least "coach" Tommy is resigning his post as senator in order to run for governor of Alabama in the next election cycle. I'll vote against him, but of course, since he is white, stupid, and a football coach- although not a very good one- and has a "R" behind his name he will win.

Again, please accept my apologies...

you all be safe and keep well- and confusion to the republicans
Ed

Every state seems to have at least one dumbass politician, and even more dumbasses to vote for them. I agree that renaming President's Day is stupid; it was already a made-up holiday to consolidate 2 presidents' birthdays in February (Washington and Lincoln).

So did you sign up here just to stir the pot? You sound miserable; maybe get outside for a while.

Ed, who do you think would be a better choice? I can't think of one democrats I'd vote for, then again, I feel the same for most republicans.

I looked to see what Senator Tuberville actually said, and he did NOT say anything about changing the name of the day to Donald J Trump Day. This is just an other example of a misinformed person suffering from terminal TDS.
What was said was that we are celebrating ALL great presidents.
If you have something factual showing that Sen. Tuberville said what you are claiming, you should share that here, otherwise, please check facts before posting this kind of fake news, Ed Marsh.

Good morning to all- With all due respect to you, let me say that no, I did not come here to "stir the pot" although when it comes to politics and civic comment, the pot needs a very good stir every now and again.
And let me assure you, I am in no way miserable, and I suspect I spend a great deal more time outside and on the water than you do...

But I certainly do enjoy getting outsdie...

you all be safe and keep well-and confusion to the republicans

Ed your post seemed like you wanted to do some stirring.

Good morning to all-
Lord, Lord, I wish I had a nickel for every time I have heard "fake news" coming from the American Emperor and his supporters. Fake news is ANYTHING which does not come from the mouth of the American Emperor and his supporters...

And when it comes to facts, there are always "alternative facts" - just ask the American Emperor...

you all be safe and keep well- and confusion to the republicans

I'll vote for putting former presidents' birthdays back to where they were, perhaps acknowledging them on calendars devoted to that kind of thing, but otherwise celebrating or ignoring them as we please, with no mandatory holidays involved.

I find it interesting that we had to combine Washington's and Lincoln's birthday into one holiday to allow for MLK's birthday to be a holiday because the cost of Federal holidays and the impact on the U.S. budget, but it was okay for Biden to create Juneteenth, out of thin air with no budgetary consideration whatsoever, a holiday I had never heard of until I moved to Alaska, a state with no impact on slavery whatsoever.
