    What's for supper?

I grabbed a marked down seasoned pork loin. I'll cook it sous vide, make mac & cheese and steamed asparagus. Probably start with a salad. Finish with a Dreamsicle. There were a bunch in the display case with time left on their Best By date. If it's good I'll go grab a couple of more...

Graham was only 71. I can't find a cause of death, either. Who the heck knows what's going on with McConnell. edit to add: The 911 call was for a "cardiac event."

    Invasive AI

I've never even logged on to an AI website/application, although my Twitter/X membership gives me access to Grok. I can't imagine taking that long of a course of steroids.

Dark Websites and Senior Eye Strain

I hate the faint font on a white background. I encounter it often enough. Exactly who is the target audience for that stupidity? Sometimes I hit CTRL+A to highlight the entire page so I can read the darned thing.

That's pretty interesting. So what AI did you use? Was this part of some Telemed program?

What "song" are you listening to now?

I just read that this song was written by Bob Dylan, who recorded it but never released it. Manfred Mann released their version a year or so later. I also thought that Manfred Mann's Earth Band was their original name, but it came after the original group disbanded. Manfred Sepse Lubowitz is...

Generators, Solar Panels, Alternate Power Sources

I asked because as you know, just running the igniter (and maybe the electronics) for the gas furnace is gonna be a low-draw thing. If the furnace hasn't blown up under normal use, your generator ain't gonna do it. Heck, a battery and an inverter might be sufficient.

July 2026: Cyclospora outbreak in 17 states, no recalls yet

You can get tincture iodine here, but it's out of stock right now. I'd like to find mercurochrome for staining splinters. glass, etc that might be in my fingers/toes. I wonder if it's even made anymore.

July 2026: Cyclospora outbreak in 17 states, no recalls yet

I read that washing removes most--but not all--of the parasite. I have a salad spinner and always wash my greens, whether I buy head lettuce or--rarely--bagged lettuce. I was on another forum and it got me going down the rabbit hole of ozone washing machines...

America 250th anniversary this year !

A month or so ago, a Democrat strategist said that they guy's Nazi tattoos were not something that mainstream Americans would recognize, so they were not a problem. Dems are really gonna have to cheat hard this election. Their USAID slush fund is gone.
