What Are You Doing Today?

I drove to the urologist's office to get my monthly cath swap (40 miles one way.) Picked up a specialty script, went to the ALDI out there, which is WAY cheaper than the one in Charlottesville. I always take the interstate going to the appointment because it's fastest, then the original rural east/west highway coming home because it's a nice relaxing drive. The I went to Walmart, which is undergoing a major remodeling effort, purportedly in response to a Target being built nearby.

Call came in from radiology to schedule my PET scan. 2 hours with the first hour the saltine flush. Those of you that have been thru it, know it is one of those test where you have to disassociate with time and just stay still. It is a test of wills. Last time I did it, was 9 years ago. So, in 2 weeks, the party begins.

I was doing the usual and then I ran into road blocks all around on the way to the farm for the third time.
Cop cars all over the place. It looked like they were looking for someone in the creek/ woods areas. They were there for hours telling drivers to go around. I tried to find out what was going on. I finally called a friend with a police scanner. She went on facebook to find out what was happening. They were looking for a fugitive on foot after he had run his car into a ditch not half a mile from my farm. This was especially bad because my middle challenged daughter was house sitting the farm house, the dogs, the cat, the duck and the rabbits. There was a shelter in place order so I grabbed a pew pew to spend the nite with daughter. In the meantime, she went out to put the duck up for the nite and found him being eaten by a hawk. She was freaked out, poor thing.
I was on the phone with her when my friend called to say they had caught the guy.
I told her to leave the duck and go inside. One of the things on my list for tomorrow.

Not much yet today except voting. Today is our primary day. With the deception involved we can only guess how things will turn out.

One week+1 day since I started the Keflex for my septic elbow area and I seem to have turned the corner on it. I now have full function of my right arm and have little pain only under stress, so I think I am getting better. I got some flu-like illness over the weekend and was too sick to do much on top of the arm, but that has since greatly improved as well. I missed church due to illness. That hasn't happened in a long time.

Today is shopping, paying off the roof that was finished on Saturday, and wife paying some church stuff and deposits. It is military day at the Kroger affiliate here, and that is one of two days that we go shopping every month. Wife then has babysitting grandsons this evening, so i will likely be batching it then for a while.

The rain is still going and everything is wet, so no reason to go to the gardens or greenhouses. We got our salmon last night and had dinner with eldest son and family. I don't know how many fish they gave us as they were fileted, vacuum-packed and frozen, but I am guessing it is about 20 fish. It is more than enough to last two people for the winter.

Played with doggie, who is 3mos old today. Tv, laptop, on here... make lunch...OOOh I was on hubbies FB page and found out something that made me nosey enough to ask a neighbor.A rarity for me. The woman who owns the convenience store right down from us, was stabbed by her BIL! Son saved her somehow. She's still in hospital, punctured lungs. Anyways this is shocking for a tiny town of less than 800. :oops:Do not know the particulars yet.

Crime certainly is getting closer.

Drugs. (sadly)

Good morning to all-
So far today I've vacuumed the house- my first daily assignment. Fed GrayTom the outside cat who was waiting, but not patiently. Then I went out and tended to chickens. I looked around while out back- we had a hot little squall line blow through last evening and had some serious wind gusts. No damage here but some badly needed rain.
Then I checked email to see if I won the lottery in Florida We don't do the lottery here in the good holy state of Alabama, don't you know. But I didn't win again. Never have won. Maybe if I bought a ticket it might improve my chances. Probably not.
Then I drove down to Johnnie's pond where I pestered the fish for a while with my flyrod. I have to fish early, early before it gets too hot. I caught one small bass and a lovely big bream. Fun it was.
The rest of the day? who knows. Maybe nothing and maybe some emergent occasion which needs attention- we'll see.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

I have to go have more blood work this morning. Not sure where this "high potassium" situation is going to go but it's getting tiresome. I feel OK and don't have any obvious symptoms of anything wrong, other than the higher potassium numbers.

After that I'll probably stay inside and out of the heat. This is supposedly the hottest week yet of Houston's summer; temps exceeding 100 every day. I need to do some window washing but I suppose that will wait till it's cooler.

Driving a friend to a doctor appointment this afternoon. I found that old grass cutter I've mentioned in a dilapidated shed I had stored garden tools in until the tin roof finally gave way. Dunno what this one didn't make its way to the garage. The wood handle is rotted and the mounting hardware is corroded, but I recently bought some high-end rust remover from Amazon so maybe I'll test it out this morning.

I am doing laundry and some ironing, and then not much else.

I don’t feel well today. I got a UTI a couple days ago. My GYN prescribes an antibiotic for me at every yearly visit so I can have it with me, since I am so nervous about getting a UTI in the middle of the night, or if I am away from home. My Gyn prescribed a new antibiotic last time. I have never taken Cephalexin before. Like most antibiotics, it doesn’t make me feel very well. I have whined about getting UTI’s in the old SOC so I won’t complain about it anymore; or at least I will try not too.

It is raining today. We were supposed to get our new roof on today but it is raining and there is still a change of rain the rest of this week. So now it looks like next Tuesday the roofers will try to make it happen; maybe.🤞

I hope you feel better soon, Krys. UTIs can be very unpleasant. And whine all you want; misery loves company!!

This is one of those crappy days. Very little sleep.Up early, we drove to Dodge to buy few grocery before they start pulling all his teeth soon. For some reason he can no longer follow a grocery list. Sigh.. Then the rain came pouring while in the store. His feet were hurting, my back giving out. Made it home $ 4 .04 a gallon! Paid numerous bills. Not really in the mood to do much.
I just wanna sleep- forever -well almost;)
