What do YOU want this forum to be?

However, since history isn't paranormal (unless you read the new stuff written by progressives), I would need a different name for it, one that includes conspiracy, paranormal, history, and whatever else we might want to put there.
Just call it Alternative History, and that will cover everything from ancient civilizations all the way up through Tartaria, and newer things from the last few hundred years, and will also work for paranormal and crypto zoology.
Or call it “Down the Rabbit Holes”,( à la Art Bell style).

Is there a way to disable the "URL Unfurl" thing?? I find it annoying when I want to post a URL and a heading appears taking up space. I tried deleting the "url unfurl" brackets that appear automatically in formatting but the forum just puts them back.

For instance, if I quote something from an article I try to include the URL in case someone wants to yell "SOURCE!!" at me. It used to show up as a simple URL but not anymore. Like this...

If I go into Edit mode on that last post, I see this (I had to take a screen shot to keep it from posting the "heading" again)...

There may be, I don't know, and would have to look. I kind of liked that feature, so I hadn't thought of it.

I guess it's just me (and my poor eyesight), but it's just added screen clutter. I already have difficulty discerning quoted text from a post, and when that URL stuff is added it just adds to the junk in the post. I'll just stop adding URLs to my own drivel.

I haven't tested this, I did find this for XenForo forums. This is supposed to stop the automatic unfurl and still keep it available for those that want it. Hope it helps.

  • Text on the same line: Simply placing text immediately before or after the URL on the same line usually prevents the automatic conversion.

I'm listening to Never Tear us Apart by Paloma Faith

Hey, I'm new to this forum, so help would be appreciated on how to properly post, for example: music.
You just posted, and did it exactly right, @Honeybadger , and welcome to the forum ! In the Chit-chat section, there are 1-2 music threads, where you can post music, but not an actual music section.

We all use a first and last name on this forum, so you will need to do that to be a proper member here. It does not need to be your real name, just a name that sounds real.
There is an “Introductions “ thread , where you can let everyone know you are here and share where you are from, and things like that.
