Shopping--What did you buy?

We have two Walmarts at about eight miles each. Produce is more miss then hit. Four more miles is a so-called Marketplace which caters to a somewhat upscale area. Day and night! Produce and not just potatoes, carrots and onions. Fresh!!!! The same as far as meat is concerned. A deli section to die for. Of course a lot of salad mixes, … . But on the way home from dermatology, play dates.
The same with Sam’s - location, location.
 
@John Brunner yes, my DeWalt is a tire inflator.

I still have the ancient portable inflator that plugs into a cigarette lighter; I keep it in the car, just in case …..

The DeWalt stays home. It will air up the front tires on both tractors, if need be. It’s a lot handier than limping something to the workshop and firing up the air compressor.🤠

I got an inflator primarily because I have a tractor tire that loses air, and if we lose power and I need the tractor to move snow or trees, my electric compressor is useless. In fact, that exact thing happened a month ago and my neighbor brought over his battery inflator. Then I bought one.

I've been too lazy to take the tire in to get fixed, but in my defense, the good tractor tire place is the next county north and is 30 miles away. The local tire shop put a tube in it (I had run over nails), but for some reason it's started leaking.

The front tire on my Honda 4-wheeler would not hold air. This was last year. The tires were original to the 2002 Honda. Turns out both fronts were dry rotted something fierce, so I had to buy two front tires.

The young fella at the tire shop was great in picking tires that would serve my particular purpose at a fairly affordable price. $70/each. My brother happened to be down here from Ohio, so he mounted them.

Meaning, could it be that your front tractor tires aren’t holding air because of dry rot ?
 
This morning, I unloaded yesterday’s horse feed purchase from the car. It’s all sitting in the garage..

The vet clinic called me and told me I could pick up the Previcox for my Dutch Warmblood. Yes, I know there is equioxx for horses, but the minute you attach the word horse to the same identical drug. It becomes known as equioxx and a lot more expensive.

I told the clinic I will pick it up tomorrow when school is out. That is because the vet clinic sits on a very curvy side road that is situated between the grade school and the new junior school. I do not want to be in a tangle with mom’s picking kids up at one school and barreling on those side roads to the other school to get the other children. I will happily stay out of their way and get the Drugs Saturday morning.

Those of you who have had horses extensively through the years, especially if you have shown in any kind of events are aware of what DSLD is. Duncan’s career as a show Jumper is catching up to his legs. He is 30-something so I don’t know how much time he has left. The Previcox is still working miracles for his leg aches. I have also got a wealth of helpful information from a couple of ladies on the Horse Forum regarding supplements to buffer the affects of long term use of Previcox on the liver & kidneys. Duncan made it through this brutal summer that we have had even though he lost weight that he couldn’t afford to lose. His appetite is back to normal as long as he’s on the painkillers so I’m hoping he’ll put some weight back on before winter gets here.

At any rate, it is my choice in this life to do the best I can for Duncan until he tells me he can’t do this anymore. I have five horses laid to rest on this farm and two up in Western PA. It NEVER gets easier……….not with horses, not with the dogs or the cats…..

No, there's one tire that I ran over a couple of screws with. I took it in to the local automotive tires shop and they put a tube in it. So dry rot would not affect it. For some reason the tube loses air. I guess I could take it back to the same place and have another tube put in.
 
This morning I ran the trash and went to the vet clinic to get the Previcox for Duncan, my very senior horse.

It’s been eons since I was there on a Saturday and boy did I get an eyeful. This clinic has a huge parking area because they see a lot of livestock that arrive in huge trailers. The entire area was full of trucks and cars with dogs and cats. I was lucky to find a spot for my little Saturn. It looked like Walmart on Check Day😂😂

It was a gloriously cool morning for a change, so the farm dog folks were all tailgating with their dogs and generally passing the time chatting it up with each other🤠🤠. They were already signed in, the office gals come outside and holler your name when they’re ready to put your animal(s) in a room.

The vet okayed 60 days worth of Previcox for Duncan. I know what this stuff costs, even discounted on autoship from an on-line pharmacy. He cut me a HUGE price break and I am so thankful. I suspicion he will want to see Duncan before he refills because it’s been more than year. That’s fine by me as it will be a lot cooler in two months. Duncan is one of those horses everyone has a soft spot for❤️

I stopped at Circle K and bought myself a couple of donuts. My taste must really be changing as they weren’t near as good as I remembered 🤯
