An actual health/medical video worth watching

Almost all of the health/medical videos I come across I'll almost immediately identify as bullshit or misinformation and turn off.

I found this one realistic and actually helpful. I've already opted out of modern society/lifestyle and this video explains it very well.

Well, I'll take just one of his examples.

Sitting for 12 hours p/day. If a person has a desk job, he/she can't just take a [time-out] and go for a walk, or de-compress. He/she is being paid to get the job done, finish the task assigned to them. This loosely applies to many jobs. Taxi driver, bus driver policeman [sitting in a patrol car], etc.

And, what about those of us that worked a physical/somewhat physical job for 30-40 or however many years? There's some physical [moving] but .... lunchtime rolls around; we eat what we have on our 30-minute lunch break. We do not have time to ,or place to prepare a proper meal. We have 30 minutes , our co-worker says hey ... I'm going to here or there, ya want something from there? And most of us will say yes & thanks.

And what about myself for example ... I worked physical for 20 years of my 30 [then promoted] to supervision. [Desk job] mostly. But ever since H/school I was into physical fitness, followed a boxers training. I ate well, [perfect]? No but closer than most. Right up to the weekend I had my heart attack, took some time off, then back at it , in a modified form .... more aerobics , not so much resistance training. Ate even better, no fried food, cut way back on alcohol, stopped smoking altogether , next came pre-diabetes, then neuropathy, then arthritis ...... so if all the good food & exercise is so good for us ...... how did I even get this way? And how in the hell could I ever believe it is somehow going to help me now?

ANSWER ..... in my opinion, it is all genetic. Either ya got lucky, or ya did not.

My father had heart disease , my mother had severe arthritis.

I have never heard of a pill or anything for that matter ..... to change genetics.

I will agree that desk jobs can kill you, aerobically and skeletal-ly. But I've had friends in the trades whose bodies were shot when they hit their 40s. I don't know what the right answer is.

Regarding genetics: maybe you can't improve them, but you can try to work around them. I lost my father and 2 brothers when they were in their 50s. They smoked and drank. I smoked cigars for a while and quit drinking in my mid 30s. I'm in my early 70s.

I won't talk about workplace eating habits. I got shame issues ;)

Being a somewhat competitive skier from 6-16 took care of just about everything you can twist, shimmy or mess up. It hurts - Voltaren is your best friend. Have a couple.
