Invasive AI

And if you do not tip appropriately it will kick you like the kids which got hurt during a dance routine?
I spat in your food, Dave.

I am not a fan of AI, and I'm getting really tired of how invasive it is becoming. I opened my email today (GMAIL) and was greeted by an AI Summary of an email from a friend. SERIOUSLY???? I don't know why this absolutely enrages me. I had to look up how to turn that shit off. (And yes, I apologize but it is indeed shit.) 🤬:poop:
The popular internet story asserts that in the days of wooden sailing ships, agricultural manure was stamped with "Ship High In Transit" or "Stow High In Transit" (S.H.I.T.). According to the myth, this was done to keep the cargo high up, away from bilge water, to prevent volatile methane gas from building up and exploding.
🤣 🤣

I find AI useful for only one thing. Instead of say- looking up a word, I ask AI and get direct response. This is quicker than typing in search bar for a word meaning or definition.
What I do not like is Ai coming in saying. literally...hey your asking many questions about such an such...:mad:so what's it to you

This works for you. Great! I try to get back to the old ways of actually opening a book. Sounds strange but we seem to loose so much understanding and capability while accusing younger generations of doing the same thing. How will kids sign contracts if they cannot write cursive? I was a bill collector. Yes and I learned a lot about a lot. One debtor signed a contract with crosses in the late 1990’s. Well to do business man but never learned to read and write.

@Marie Miller - yes it serves a purpose for me in several ways.
Kids were stopped being taught cursive years ago. Everything so digital now, I doubt a proper signature is useful to them in even in today's world. I agree though Marie , young people need more old time school learning.
Our old ways come in handy .I think about an NCiS episode where computers were down Gibbs breaks out old printer, old Kodak camera, old type phone, different types of communication that had become non existent,, The crew was shocked. Bur hey they still got the job done!

My thoughts on AI have changed a bit these last 8 days are so. I will skip the long version and boring you. However it literally saved me in my crisis medical situation. Being holidays and already living in out here with no specialized doctors- I used Ai to guide me thru the process and help in trying to keep me from going to ER. It helped a lot. I felt since I had been thru some of this before that he was spot on with my situation. He seemed to think I was very knowledgeable of my medical drama,
Guess I will find out end of the month when I finally get to see a specialist .

That's pretty interesting. So what AI did you use? Was this part of some Telemed program?

@John Brunner - just plain ole AI ChatGPT...
I knew having had large doses of prednisone 5 years ago to expect certain side effects. However the meds this time were very quick acting and the side effects were almost all at once, vs over a period of time.
To add to complications again rare as I was told by doctor,, instead of gaining weight, I lose weight quickly. This of course makes me very weak, along with the other side effects was hard to handle this time. Bottom line, I will tell GP and the new doctor about this and will never take a 21 day- I call it rush pack again.

I've never even logged on to an AI website/application, although my Twitter/X membership gives me access to Grok. I can't imagine taking that long of a course of steroids.
