I just came here ….played a few little games …..after being out food shopping / odd jobs …….feeling tired think I over done it a bit while in the city for a week , danced 3 of those days ….met up with a friend who lived in this area all her life….had morning tea …had lunch ..did shopping together dropped her back at her new “ home” a very tiny retirement unit ….walked a dog we was minding ….no wonder I’m a bit flat today

I might have a shower heat up my what bag and go to bed and read my weekly magazine that’s called That’s life ….and another called Take 5

In Aussie slang, "spitting the dummy" (or having a "dummy spit") means throwing a childish temper tantrum, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
 
I am OK... Just taking some time away from here as I said before, ..........personal reasons...

Actually on the 18th it was the 3rd anniversary of our son's death.. He died of a ruptured aorta at the age of 49.. It still hurts very much.. He was the national president of the transportation union of Canada stationed in Ottawa.. He left a wife and 3 children under the age of 10 behind..

Also the weather has finally improved and it is time for me to go out and work.. After a brutal winter, the gardens need lots of grooming and weeding as well as the back 40 that is a total mess.. Lots of grass to groom as well.. I can't work as long or as fast as I used to do, so it takes me a lot longer to get something done.. I am totally pooped after working and then I make supper..

Also the time I spend on the computer is getting less and less.. I go upstairs to go to bed around 11:00pm or later and spend about 45 minutes on the computer, and then to bed I go.. Before playing games, I check some things like my banking, e-mails, and other sites.. By then, I am almost asleep.. Sometimes I get up during the night to go to the bathroom and come on the computer just for a quick check to see if the family has contacted me.. They are in New Zealand, Australia, and the Philippines ..

On the 30th of this month, it is my birthday.. I will be 85 years old and that is another reason to not be on here as much as I used to be.. Almost perfect health, but the age is catching up with me.. Shall I say that my get up and go, got up and went..

I am not abandoning this forum, but simply taking it easy during the summer months.. Winter time is another thing.. I will be on here more often, but for now, just every now and then will have to do..

I sincerely hope you understand my situation....................... I do lurk every now and then just to see what is going on..

OMG, Kate, "spitting the dummy" was my last two! 13 months apart, when one would act up, the other followed, and your saying is so perfect! Only thing different is, I call dummies - "soothers", so my last two used to "spit their soothers"!

Need I mention that they were always wet or soiled (or both), too? And may I add, often at the same time! :giggle:

Oh, and... when a spanking was due, rarely did I not give both a spanking! Partners in crime they were!

Tale the time you need, Steve. Sometimes taking a little rest is just what the doctor ordered.
 
I’ve been dragging the chain as well , anything we go away the tidying up outdoors seems to double ( the fruit trees are loosing leaves )

Now going to check out games for a while …then head into town to get a Swede to add to the beef stew I’m making latter …..it’s turned really cold here ..really fast this year and it’s not winter yet …..well that can say what they like when the seasons start and finish ….but I was taught 21 st June is the start of winter IMG_0742.gif🥶

I played a few games as I was up after going to the bathroom and having trouble falling back asleep...
Tomorrow I will be out there getting the vegetable garden ready for planting in the next few days..
That should take me a few days to do as I don't work very long..

I’ve been dragging the chain …..but I’ve been soooo busy ..and ya know what ..I’m missing again tomorrow cause hubs has a GP appointment in the city …and as ya all know ,we don’t live in the suburbs …far far from the suburbs …

So what excuse can I come up with..to be absent again tomorrow ..till about this time ….wow … it’s 5 pm ….already …
I’ll go look at games now ..so I don’t get sacked on here …..:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You're way behind, Steve. My son picked squash Monday and yesterday. Potatoes are ready to dig.

We caught a few fish Sunday, but we got rained out. If we had been able to keep fishing, I think we would have caught a lot.
 
Shirley.. I'm not behind.. We had a big frost a few days ago and snow last week.. At night, it is still below freezing..
We don't plant any plants in the ground till the first week-end in June..
Seeds and bulbs in the ground are OK as of now..
We also have squash and potatoes............... At the grocery store...
Now I am preparing the raised gardens for planting next week.. I will be putting in seeds tomorrow for carrots, parsnips, onions, and zucchini..... I already have my tomato plants in the house ready to be planted..
