Introductions

It is not required, but if you would like to introduce yourself, you can do that here. We don't need to know any private information that should be kept private. Once I re-figure out the back end of XenForo, I'd like to set up a group or a way to recognize those of you who were members of the original forum, as ALUMNI or ORIGINAL members or something, but if you were here before but would rather not be so acknowledged, that's fine; sometimes it's nice to start over and if you'd like to that, have at it.

We can add the Alumni to our forum title. I like that Idea, and for a while, we will mainly be just people from original SOC anyway. Are we going to do the whole 2-name thing like we did before , too ?
I think that really helps a lot and sets this forum aside from all other forums in a special way.

Anyway, on to introduction (probably not even necessary), but Alumni from the beginning of the last SOC forum, way back in 2015. Married to @Bobby Cole , living in Alabama, but grew up in north Idaho.
Interested in plants, animals, health, reading, gardening, and whatever happens to catch my interest from time to time. Managed to reach 80, about to be 81 in January…… not sure how that happened , where did all the time go ?

Yes, I did like the two-name thing, or three if someone wants to use their middle name or initials.

I can’t change where it says new member to SOC Alumni, so maybe only you can do that , Ken ? Or I didn’t know how to find where to do it ?

Hello all. I registered but could not use Beth Gallagher for some reason. I used Beth_Gallagher instead so maybe I can edit it later. I'm happy to see this and look forward to hearing from everyone again.
I think that Ken should be able to change it for you, @Beth_Gallagher . I had trouble at first, too, but then everything worked just fine. It is wonderful to see the group coming together !

I only put my first name, but, if I can, will add last name. Didn't really think about doing my last name until I was done.

I'm an Alumni from 2015, at least I think that's when I became a member of Ken's forum (LOL).

Since all of the Alumni know me, I'll keep this Introduction short (I hope).

Currently living in Henderson, Nevada, but are making plans to move back to northern Colorado. Have lived in: Colorado (twice before), North Carolina and Northeastern Florida.

Due to my parents divorce, was raised, during my high school years, with relatives on their small hog farm in northeastern Indiana. Hog/beef cattle farms surrounded us and most of us were involved with 4-H and/or FFA.

Enlisted in the Navy before I graduated high school in May 1968. Was in a Destroyer Escort Group out of San Diego and Long Beach.

After the Navy, my first job was working at Knott's Berry Farm on their Stagecoach Ride taking care of horses, etc. After that: Ambulance Driver/Attendant, Warehousing/Shipping-Receiving/Electronics Stockroom/Purchasing Jr. Buyer and Inventory Management. Retired in 2007.

In 1985, attended my first professional rodeo in Long Beach and got hooked on it. Ended up buying a "roping" horse, necessary tack, going to a Roping School and bought my Permit as a Team Roper in PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association). Had a descent paying job, so only done rodeo on weekends in So. California. That lasted for approximately 15 years, then sold my horse and stopped roping, but still helped Stock Contractors in the arena at different rodeos.

Married my GREAT Christian wife in 2001. Found out very quickly just how much she loves rodeo and has become a very serious rodeo fan. We've been to many, many PRCA rodeos. We are also paid yearly members of the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Have met numerous World Champions since we've been married. Also found out how much she likes target shooting.

Last year found out I had Prostate Cancer after getting MRI, Biopsy and PET Scan. Have gone thru 28 sessions of radiation therapy and now on Hormone Injection every 3 months. Earlier this year, before radiation and hormone injection, my PSA (prostate blood analyzing for cancer) was 28. Currently, as of last month/November, my PSA is now .04. Due to a possible stomach problem, will be getting a CT Scan and talking with a GI doctor later. Thank God, I have a VERY supportive wife that has helped me a lot during the time period.
