What Are You Doing Today?

I thought my online video conference with my doctor was this morning at 8, so I was up early, dressed and ready. Then I looked at the calendar and it is actually tomorrow morning at 8.
So, I did laundry, picked strawberries and got them ready to make strawberry shortcake later today, made a grocery order from Walmart+, made some chocolate banana ice cream to freeze for tomorrow, and some coleslaw with shrimp for lunch. (Which I just had some of)
The groceries should be here any time now, and then I will get those put away and relax for a while before we have the strawberry shortcake. I think we are getting close to the end of the strawberry season, there were not as many out there ready to pick today, but we will give it a good watering and see if we have another good batch or two.

Not much here. Cloudy and more rain coming later so no solar power jockeying here.

Went to the Doc on Monday. Got pneumococcal conjugate vaccination, that upper arm still aches. Maybe it'll pass by tomorrow. A1C came back 5.1, Doc said better than his own. So I have that going for me.

Might pay some bills, might dawdle. Not due until June but I don't like to risk missing payment through disorganization. Man, these Social Security payments sure are small after tax withholding. I didn't take that into account. At least my pension payments aren't taxed by the State any more. That's something..

I have to go to that Hell-on-Earth Walmart store to pick of a few things this morning, after the traffic dies down from all the commuters heading to work. My husband is out fishing today... so yippee to that!

I hope we don't have to move. We have a new neighbor that has attached herself on to me like a fat tick already. She is too overly friendly. Every. Single. Time. She sees me outside and walks over to talk me, she tells me how pretty I am, how nice I am, and how nice our yard looks. BS! I guess I made the mistake by waving to her once, while I was outside. I going to have to set some boundaries. I can be rude, if I have too.;)

Oops, I for that my Medicare premium is coming out of the SS payments directly now. So not as bad as I was thinking. It isn;t just income tax reducing the payment.

Took the charger off the car battery. I don't drive much now so this can be an ongoing issue: battery runs down. I replaced it maybe a year ago, and it was old enough that it needed it. I foolishly sat in the car Monday for nearly an hour, not running but using "accessory mode" to listen to some stuff. Once it was time to head to the Doc.... car wouldn't start! Had to jump-start it and now instead of being ready too early I worried I'd be too late for my appointment. Grr.

So anyway I charged it up overnight. I'll have to make a long run to the grocery store in the small town I've been shopping at.

They make those dashboard solar chargers that just plug into the cigarette lighter port, and they will help keep your battery charged up in between times you are driving it, , unless your car is parked inside a garage . I have used those on several vehicles that had a poor battery, and they help a lot .

I have one, but I have to connect it under the hood to the battery. A lot of cars switch off the cigarette lighter port when turned off.

I might end up wiring it permanently through the firewall.

Another MRI, persuaded SO to see our PCP. 30 minutes after requesting an office visit through his patient portal he had an appointment an hour later. A 30+ minute discussion and a follow up after she runs requests through insurance.

The rear mower deck scalp wheels on my zero turn have started dragging, so I got out the manual on how to adjust them. I did the front 3 wheels fine, but the rear ones are nearly impossible to get at...they are mounted under the deck, not on the back. The deck is a beast...weighs over 600#. I spent over an hour finally getting one of them done. I got in my car and drove around looking for a longer wrench but could not find one. I guess I'll drag my butt out there tomorrow and figure out haw to do the second rear wheel. Then they're gonna forever stay in that position.

It could have been so much easier with a simple design change to mount them like the front ones, but that would have cost Bob Cat another 50¢.
