Thank you for the welcome, Marie Mallory!Hi Madge and welcome to the forum.
Thank you for the welcome, Marie Mallory!
So y'all have decided to move back to Loveland, Cody?Somewhat long, so please bear with me. LOL
Well, here it is February 6th, 2026, and things are going good. We made it thru Christmas, with numerous nice gifts to ourselves and money gift cards to relatives.
For my wife's pre-78th birthday last month/January 27th, we attended a Dinner Theater close to where we live. It was Cue Country Night and the band was made up of a mother and her three adult kids. The mother played bass, her son played acoustic guitar, but her two daughters played numerous instruments, as in: fiddle, banjo, electronic drums and keyboard. Each table of people got to pick a country/western song that was on a list. We chose "Fishing In The Dark" by Diamond Rio. Now only was the family band great, but the one daughter and son done clogging on stage. We went to this Dinner Theater in full western attire, including cowboy hats. The dinner was good, as in a pulled-pork sandwich and baked BBQ beans. On her birthday, we had dinner at our favorite Mexican Restaurant. She got a free Mexican Ice Cream.
Valentines Day is coming up, but nothing planned (so far).
Next month, March 10, we celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We have a bottle of champagne that we were going to open for Christmas Day (didn't happen), NYE (still didn't happen), my wife's birthday (still didn't happen), so either Valentines Day or our Wedding Anniversary. For pre-Wedding Anniversary gifts, we bought a new 3 inch Topper for our bed and new Bass Pro endorsed winter slippers for us.
The company my wife works for, thru a Temp Service, has offered her a full-time job. Holiday/Vacation pay, a salary increase AND, still "at home". So, IOW, the company would be paying my wife directly, without having to pay the Temp Service anymore. Believe it or not, she has been working for this insurance company, thru the Temp Service, for 5 years now. It started as a 3-month job, but she's been getting extended monthly since. She has accepted the "Offer", but paperwork/background checks still have to be completed. Supposedly, she will start this coming Monday.
We are continuing to pack things and, as of April 1st, will have to go month-to-month on our Lease. That will be $200 added to our monthly rent. The amount of time before we move, is too short for them to give us a Lease to sign. We are also getting our boat set up to start up. Will drain both sides of the block to get the old water out and put the block plugs back in, hook up the batteries that are at home, hook up to the Durango and take over to a water faucet to use our hose to start it up. If we can't get it started, we will have to figure out what we will do next. If it does start, we will be having it put on a flatbed trailer, in either late May or June, and hauled to a Boat/RV Storage in Loveland, CO.
Currently, our moving month will be either late May or early June.
That's it!!
Yes. We have decided against moving to the Reno, NV area. We lived in Loveland for some four years and know the area quite well. The same goes for Fort Collins (knowing it, not living there). We know what the winters can be/are like, but there are definitely things that we truly miss about Loveland/Fort Collins. Among certain things we don't like about the Las Vegas Valley, which is part of Henderson, is the auto insurance cost. We are with State Farm, whom we've been with for numerous years, and for our 2021 Durango GT, it's $1,640.94 for 6 months. That's a whole lot more than we paid in northern Colorado! So y'all have decided to move back to Loveland, Cody?
Holy cow! We pay $1400 for 6 months full coverage on both our vehicles ('24 F150 and '26 Honda CRV).Yes. We have decided against moving to the Reno, NV area.
