Airplanes were luxurious and people were etiquette, dressed for the occasion..

I remember thinking how uncomfortable they all looked 'dressed to the nines' and all looking alike. :)

Hedi, I liked the way they looked, taking pride in dressing respectable, of course there too was the beatnik generation who soon became the hippies which is now called the liberals.
I used to like seeing the blacks and whites on the sidewalk's going to church in their 'Sunday best' them and their kids also all dressed up.
Most back then had fathers and husbands. Then came the ' Dope up and drop out ' culture 'free 'love' and hate the 'man 'aka law abiding citizen.
We did have problems then too of course but nothing like we have today.
All the killing and crime, epidemic of young men's suicide.
A communist dream for America was to racialize and radicalize the youth. Bring in outsiders who would change the nation till it is no more.
Last of the Greatest Generation, imo of coiurse.

Hedi do you remember poodle skirts? I do maybe because I wanted one but never got it. I do remember crinolines to make the skirts plump up, I did get one of those.

I totally remember the Poodle skirts, and also those wide belts. My mom got me a pink felt Poodle skirt, and I had several of the flouncy crinolines underskirts to wear underneath those full skirts.
My favorite one was called a cha-cha skirt (if I remember right) and it was black with white ruffling in semi-circles all the way around, and a full circle skirt.

I liked them both, lucky you got to have them. I did get the crinoline and skirt so that was good.Just no Poodle skirt.
