Never heard of this green fish worn thing, looks like gummy bar's to me. Anyway this was 3 months ago down here. Beach looking good too, no washouts here at least. Video is long so skip thru it if you want, fish catch in at beginning though.
8.40 into video he caught a pelican. He is trying to free it without hurting it. They've caught, drum. flounder, pompano and Pelican so far, I haven't watched it all yet.
I went boating with my late husband and he wanted to fish but had no bait with him. I had a couple of hardboiled eggs in the cooler and jokingly suggested using chunks of egg white for bait. He scoffed, but I put a chunk on the hook and promptly caught a small bass. Then I caught two more in 10 minutes. Catch-and-release, of course. I'll admit I crowed about that for a while.
We've seen Gummy bait before in sporting goods store in Jacksonville. We have some Gummy Worms, but never used them. In fact, before we bought the boat we have now (April 2009), we got involved with a Pier Fishing Group in Jacksonville. We bought saltwater fishing gear, but not once fished off of Jacksonville Pier. And, after 10 1/2 years in Jacksonville, never used any of the saltwater fishing gear. Sold three saltwater rigs and gave away all of our saltwater fishing tackle. Still have, and won't get rid of it, all of our freshwater fishing gear. Have had since we lived in Colorado the first time (2004). Caught a lot of Rainbow Trout in Chatfield Reservoir/Lake south of Denver.
Kinda makes me leery about eating fish after watching them in video smell the fish, sniffing for Acorn Worms I think? I've been in Florida most of my adult life and never saw anyone sniff a fish to see if it was ok. I know we had to bleed blues but no other problem. I may end up being a vegetarian if things keep going the way they are.
We were told to never/ever fish on the St. John's River in Jacksonville, so we never did. I think we simply liked freshwater fishing, since we done a lot of it in Colorado, before moving to NC and then to Florida.
