I was watching Paranormal caugh on camera when they showed a photo taken Of ogopogo found in Okanagan Lake in Canada, if real it was a pretty good shot.
I snapped a picture of the TV screen and found a video online That had it included.

There are many monsters in lakes and seas. There is Champ in Lake Champlain and Illie in Lake Iliamna here in Alaska, which is now believed to be a giant sturgeon. Folklore is fun.

Personally I thing the latest photo is a hoax, however the elderly couple who took the photo seemed genuine. I've seen videos of logs, And a group of seals that look very much like the humps of a sea monster. Sturgeon is most probably what's seen.
By the way, I got the book Invisible Residents, I only read the first couple of pages and I'm hooked already.

When I completed the Lake Monsters category for the Aviva Directory, I found that there are a lot of them, but several appear to be little more than fodder for tourist advertisements. For some, it was hard to find a site that took the subject seriously.

I followed your lake monster link to your article, I printed it out, it's a excellent reference document for me to add to my new Cryptids file.

As a tangential note of interest...a plane that went down in 1971 during a Vermont snowstorm was discovered last month at the bottom of Lake Champlain (home of the monster "Champ.") At the time, no one knew exactly where it crashed, and the lake froze over 4 days after the accident. Prior searches of the lake revealed nothing.

I guess if the lake can hide a plane from searchers for 5 decades...
