In this 1923 silent movie starring comedy actor Harold Lloyd, there is a scene where he is hanging from the hands of a clock on the wall of a tall building above the streets of Los Angeles. It was well known that Lloyd did all his own stunt work, but this looks far too life-threatening for anyone in his right mind to try, regardless of his skills. Then I saw how that short was prepared and filmed: Lloyd had only to drop 2 or 3 feet to land on a safe, stable platform, that was concealed during the filming! Check it out on YouTube!
