Poor fellow. I have a stubborn relative like that. She lets her pride keep her from using a walker. I just hope she doesn't get badly hurt before she learns that pride goeth before a fall.
Our PM is giving allot of Aussies including pensioners $750 each to boost the economy sometime early in April However how are we going to spend that money when 90 % of the small shops are closed and the huge stores like Myers and David Jones are closed or closing real soon ..our city is going to look like ghost town Never mind we’ve spent $700 of it before we get it on a good quality dash cam ( front and back camera ) to protect our new car from hit and run bumps in car parks Hubby is an mechanic/ auto electrician so he connected ( hardwired)it all up himself with not a wire connecting both cameras showing anywhere in the car Of course with modern technology you can watch all the vision on our smart phones
Kate, I have wondered about that, too. US citizens are supposed to be getting some kind of cash but with most of the businesses closed, where are we going to spend it? Maybe Walmart or Amazon but they don't need it. The places that really need it are the small Mom and Pop places.
Shirley, Hang on to it! because after this is all over , your going to need it!! Prices will skyrocket again!! the mom an pop businesses are going to get it too, possibley more then what we get... But right now , fill up your cars gas tank !!!, the price of gas is very cheap again,!!
Already did, Louise. The place where my old school friends and I eat at is a Mom and Pop eating place. I hope they get enough to keep them in business. I could give them my cash but, while I am generous, I ain't that generous.
Totally agree Shirley ..our little town survives on tourism ..every other shop in the Main Street is a pasty or coffee shop ..as well as the huge national trust tourist spots ,.all closed .. We usually have hoards of people around town at Easter not this year ..... ..all the seafront caravan parks are closed until further notice We are a 3-4 min walk to,the beach we walked down there yesterday as they are not closed due to being fairly quiet however if the hordes came up,at Easter it would deprive us of that pleasure of going down beach because of irresponsible people ...you understand what I mean by that don’t you @Craig Swanson after Bondi beach in the city where you live ( people defying orders to stay away ) so all of us have to pay the price because of idiots
Yes @Kate Ellery. Difference to you living in a small seaside town is I live in a major city with millions of people going stir crazy from home isolation. Reckon those that jam packed Bondi Beach that day before its closure were trying to make a statement of freedom. A rather foolish one I suspect as how many infections may have occurred from that single day is anyone's guess. For the record I have not left my home for a week, other than a short walk around my street, checking mail box and bringing in the newspaper. I am starting to go a little stir crazy too.
ya,know folks , it really hasn't affected me that much,, I mean, we are all here, all in the same boat ,,we are tall trying to have fun with some comedy here and so lets keep the smiles here happening , we all need some good laughs! it sure has helped me.. anyway.,,
Image did not show @Shirley Martin. Spot on @Louise Miller if it was not for the fun we have on our forum.. we all will be climbing the walls.
Its raining and the temperature is +6c... Supposed to go up to +10c in a few days and still rain.. The snow will finally start to melt... but the ground is frozen which will cause some flooding.. The water has nowhere to go but stay on the surface...
We are having sunny, warm days. I got the rest of my gourds put up today in spite of the pollen. I wore a face mask to keep from inhaling the pollen. I bet people passing by thought I was wearing it to keep from catching the virus. It looks like I won't get to go fishing for a while. My sister that I go with works in a job that is considered essential. Her work is near Raleigh and there is a good chance that she might be exposed to the virus. So I have to avoid her company until all this is over.
WOW !!!! Shirley that doesn't sound very safe for you or your sister... Please, whatever you do, priority is to take care of yourself.. Fishing will come later on.. Your sister should also be super careful.. This virus isn't a joke...
