I have been fascinated by this Netflix series; the second season was recently released. Mindhunter is an American crime thriller web television series created by Joe Penhall, based on the true crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The show is so well done; the audience is aware of the horror of the true serial killer crimes without all the "shock and gore". It is set in the 1970's; I love the period automobiles and decor... complete with avocado and harvest gold appliances. It's a great account of the beginnings of the FBI's BAU... behavioral analysis. I enjoyed the series so much that I have ordered the book from Amazon.
Didn't know there was going to be a Season 2. Thanks @Beth Gallagher Next month I swap around my streaming subscriptions and will make sure to pick up Netflix again. It is truly an excellent series.
I already binged all of season two except the last couple of episodes. The actors who play the serial killers are so freakishly "real." (Spoiler: Manson this season )
Just watched the first episode of last season. It ended with the hostage taker apparent Shooting himself. Pretty good so far.
Thanks for the reminder Beth! Was hoping Mindhunter would be picked up for another season. Enjoyed the first one.
Guess I'll have to wait. Hulu offered me the 30 days free. WIll do that and then go to Netflix next. I only keep YouTube Red and Prime all the time. The rest, I usually won't pay for. I just wait until they offer me the free 30 days 3-4 times a year. Then there are 3 more who offer a week free at a time several times a year. It's become a hobby to play with the "trials".
I just starting watching the other day, Season 1. Just finished watching episode 6. I am enjoying this Mindhunter.
I just binge-watched it a few days ago. While I can't say it was a pleasant experience, it was very well done and fascinating. You're right. When you look them up, that's pretty much what they looked like, and the things they say in the series are taken from interviews with them.
Good grief. Do people expect to profit from EVERYTHING?? Seems to me she should be happy that the series has shown a light on the case and might bring unsolved murders some attention. "A Mother Of An Atlanta Child Murders Victim Wants 'Mindhunter' To Compensate The Families" ... from YAHOO.
Last night watched the episode with Charlie Manson. Done most realistically as compared to other shows depicting him. Also interested in sub-plot regarding Brian, Agent Tench's son. Also interested in in sub-plot regarding Wendy. Great season! so much going on!
