president.jpeg It takes a special kind of tree to have a nickname. Cloaked in the snows of California’s Sierra Nevada, the 3,200-year-old giant sequoia called "the President" rises 247 feet.

I've been to the Sequoia National Forest. The one called "General Sherman" is, I think, the biggest. I was really impressed by the size and age of those trees.

I think it was @Yvonne Smith who posted a thread about if there are still giants living on earth....well I can say after seeing this...there definitely are giant trees living on this earth Yvonne! :) It's a long way to California, but it would be worth the trip to see those trees.

I've been there too @Sheldon Scott. Sequoia national park and Kings canyon national Park are only a 1.5 hr drive from my house.

Yosemite is even closer and takes about an hour drive but mainly because near the park the speed limit is slow.

I probably have pics of some of the tallest trees on my computer that hasn't been turned on in a couple years.
