Science & Nature

A fairly wide range of topics might be appropriate for this forum area. These might include the discussion of scientific and technological research involving any of the sciences, including natural sciences, social sciences, applied sciences, and others, except where a more specific topic exists elsewhere in the forum. For example, weather events that are still occurring, or which have just occurred, should be brought up in the existing “In the News” section of the forum, and suggestions as to where to go for leaf peeping in the fall should be made in the “Travel & Vacation” area rather than here, while a discussion of why leaves change color in the fall would be a good fit for this part of the forum. Both the theories of evolution and intelligent design may be discussed here but if you are going to get into the specifics of just which god created the earth, then the “Faith & Religion” section would be a better choice.

  1. Weather & Natural Disasters
    New

This is for the discussion of the weather, either in general, where you live, or anywhere else. Although related, discussions of climate change or global warming should remain in the parent Science & Nature section. As an example, discussion of whether it is snowing or raining where you live, how hot or cold it is, unless the point to your thread is to indicate global warming or climate change, that discussion should take place here. Storms, such as hurricanes or tornadoes, should also be discussed here, as well as natural disasters, like wildfires, floods, or mudslides. Bombings and mass shootings should remain in the In the News section, however.
