When Was The Last Time You Purchased A Book Of Poetry?

I never purchased one but I did write one that never went past 5 original copies.

Except little chapbooks: "The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson". She possessed a simply brilliant mind. I have toured her Home in Amherst, MA several times, also Harvard's Houghton Library, where there is an Emily Dickinson room. They own 1/2 of her surviving manuscripts, Amherst College owns 1/2, and some scattered in private hands.

Had to write a poem in school one time:
"Roses are red sometimes, violets are blue, the leaves are green." my teacher marked on it "Very original"

 

just never was into poetry here at all

 

Never; however, had I found a book composed entirely of humorous, racy or clever limericks . . . . . . . !

There was a young man very bright,
Whose speed was much faster than light.
He set out one day,
In a relative way,
And returned on the previous night.​

Thanks, Tex, I will! While I enjoy writing and reciting cowboy-style poetry, my favorite thing is telling my stories. My personal favorite story is about my grandpa's old mule, Ebenezer. It is titled "Ebenezer and the 49 Ford." I think I posted it in the Personal Diaries section under "East of the Cuckoo's Nest." One needs to be ranch savvy to appreciate it.
