    First, some definitions of terms:

SARS-CoV-2 = the virus causing the pandemic
Covid-19 = the sickness making up the pandemic

And now, what is a virus?

A virus is an essentially chemical compound that gets inside, in the present context, your body, and gets to exist inside a cell in your body; and there it causes the cell to produce more of itself, namely, the virus; as the number of this virus gets to be overwhelming, taking over many of your cells, you get sick with like difficulty in breathing, that will kill you when you don't overcome that difficulty in breathing; this gets worse and worse: finally you die from lack of oxygen in your body.

So, the corona virus test is supposed to detect the presence of the virus in your body, by examining some swab from your throat.

The virus takes over a cell in your body like the old man took over Sinbad the Sailor and enslaves the sailor to serve him the old man.*

*In the Arabian Nights collection, Sinbad landed on a strange island and came upon an old man, who begged him for Sinbad to carry him on his the sailor's shoulders. Once the old man got to be on top of Sinbad, he would not anymore get down, but clung to Sinbad's neck tightly day and night, so that Sinbad could not get rid of him at all. How did Sinbad finally get rid of the old man? Sinbad came across the grape vine plant, and made wine for himself; and the old man wanted to drink it also, not knowing that he could get drunk. So Sinbad gave him a lot to drink and the old man got drunk, and loosened up his grip on Sinbad's neck. At this point Sinbad succeeded to throw the old man away form his neck. Lesson of this story: While we are waiting for the pandemic to blow over, let us store up on good wine.
