What Did You Do Today?

I dead lift around 350# x 3 and let a little ol’ 50# truck battery trash my lower back yesterday, so today…
Whilst Yvonne did some shopping at Krogers I went to the Chiropractor with the hope of getting my back fixed and be my cheery self again.
After that we went to the bank and then home.
I do think Doc Mike did me some good. I’ll know by tomorrow.

Got a question: Why is it that an extremely painful and mind bending backache or toothache suddenly seem to be almost healed up when ya walk into the doctor’s office?
Maybe it’s just me.
Try a good therapeutic massage @Bobby Cole. Sometimes a chiro is needed, but I find that massage often helps more, especially if just muscles are involved.

Gorgeous sunny day today, so I finally drove to Dillard's to return some stuff. The traffic wasn't too bad; I got there in about 40 minutes. I noticed on my car's trip meter that my current gas mileage is 39.3 MPG so I was driving like granny trying to get to 40, haha. My competitive nature kicks in on stuff like that. (Note that I was unsuccessful in my quest.)

I didn't do much today, and it's not looking good to get much else done for the rest of the day. I'm working towards my comfy chair in a few minutes to settle in and read. Hopefully, I won't fall a sleep, but if I do...🤷‍♀️

This morning, I had a blood lab done at the Hope Cancer Center of Nevada. From what my wife and I understand, the lab is to check to see how the cancer is doing from the two hormone injections I've got so far. The traffic was pretty bad due to a lot of freeway construction going on. My wife drove and I helped her in being careful. Got home and washed/dried bed linens I took off the bed yesterday. Made my breakfast of left-over biscuits/sausage gravy from yesterday. Continued shredding old bills that my wife gave me to shred. The shredding is part of getting ready for our move back to northern Colorado. Anyays, currently, recharging all three boat batteries. Can't have the boat/trailer transported back to Colorado until their winter is over.

I have no more medical appointments until the 18 of next month (February).

I think we've now seen every episode of MASH and The Andy Griffin Show and now we watch past episodes of Everyone Loves Raymond in the evening, as well as Name That Tune (Jane and Randy host it).

Got a call from an RN about a message from my cardiologist on my recent CT scan. All good news, confirming my own reading of the radiologist's summary I'd read online the next day. Set up an appointment to review the test results in person in March.

Got my rear in gear and made a major grocery run ahead of Winter's return here. We were at 40 F overnight, down to 30 with a little snow and icy rain by 8 AM. Roads weren't bad, no driving trouble. Only forgot to get one item and it is nothing critical.

Hours later, just before dark, has dropped to 18 F and falling with a cold North wind and an inch of new snow. I cleared about half of it. Light stuff but "sticky" somehow, perhaps sucking up and freezing to moisture left in the morning.

I have a whole list of stuff to do today. My wife's birthday is tomorrow and I have yet to find a suitable gift. She at her job at the church, and I have an appointment with the optometrist this afternoon. It is about -10 F. and there is still about 5" of snow on the drive. Hardly enough to worry about, but I will blow it off the drive if I have time this afternoon. Three parties set up for tbirthday.he wife's birthday--one tomorrow, one Friday (the big one) and one perhaps on Sunday as well. Those "zero" years are important to celebrate:)

Hope she has a great birthday.

Glad for the good news about scan.(y)

I hope you heal faster than I am healing. I've been stuck in this house for almost 2 months now.
Not from work like you but exercise of all things. Went from legs to back.

What great news about your CT scan, Jacob. And it's nice to see you posting again. Bundle up and keep warm!!

Hah. We haven't forgotten your River Adventure, little missy!!👀
Got up this morning and got the pecans and walnuts out of the dehydrator. I'll candy them tomorrow morning.

We're headed for a stretch of cold [for us] weather...highs below freezing and mid-teens overnight. So I brought a couple of truck loads of firewood to the racks on my front porch and loaded them up. Then I took a load of garbage and recyclables to one of the county's drop-off points (we don't get trash pick-up here.) Since I was in my homeless person work garbs, I swung by Walmart on the way home to grab some odds & ends.

I cleared the driveway. There was about 8 inches of new snow there, and my wife had to "run" to the church. I suggested she could use the car as I had cleared the driveway. I then cleared 2 1/2 feet of snow from the chicken house extension an cleared what I could reach on the little greenhouse without using a ladder. I didn't make it to the big greenhouse as it is quite a distance. If no young people come around to clear the snow perhaps I can either trudge over, ride the snow machine over, or hire somebody to clear it. It is supposed to warm and snow more later in the week. Even rain is a possibility.
