Went to Emergency Room Yesterday

I agree with Beth about this being more than just the pulled muscle. You did that last fall, and even though it was hurting, you were still walking and doing things and going places okay.
Then, suddenly more places started hurting, and I think that it could be the neuropathy, some kind of rheumatoid arthritis, or some other thing that none of us have suggested, that is also causing you such severe plain in so many places.

To find out what is causing the new pain, they will need to do blood tests probably, and maybe other tests, to find out what it is . The pulled muscle is still going to have to heal, but if they can find what is causing the other severe pain, they can help treat that one.
Like Beth said, if you do not tell them that it is a pulled muscle, they will do the right tests and find out what is actually happening with your body that is causing the pain everywhere now.

Thank you Tony, and yes you here at SOC have been very helpful to me. A place to vent and cry. Jake and I knew the grandkid's well, since we spent every summer with them growing up.
Dejah loved being with us, we took her and other 3 oldest places like snorkeling in the Keys, snow skiing in Gatlinburg Tenn, camping, beach and roller skating.
I didn't work ,like their mothers did so had time.
Hold onto those memories, let them help you get through this terrible time.

Beth, just a short ride to feed store had me in severe pain.
I'm sure going to keep the doctors appt 3-10 Tuesday. And let her do what test she feels necessary, long as it makes sense.
From what I've read, pulled muscle can take a long painful time to heal, from 3 to 6 months, sometimes even up to a year.
What makes it so bad is injuring other muscles while favoring the first ones. And favoring painful areas can bruise tailbone and that is no fun. My calf and tailbone are the most painful.

Hopefully your pain is caused by something simple and you can get an injection or stronger pain meds to help get you back to normal. I'm glad you're seeing a doctor, Marie.

As for riding for long distances, I totally understand that. We drove 800 miles to my brother-in-law's funeral over a year ago, and I cried in pain most of the way there and back. If I can't stand up and move around I get those horrible muscle spasms and cramps that are terrible, so sitting in a car for hours is torture. I told my sister that was probably the last time we will see each other because I won't make that trip again, and she has health problems as well so she can't travel the distance to my home.

We have made a 'deal' with each other that when one of us dies, the other won't travel to the funeral. At this age we just need to know our limitations and others will need to understand.

Last Christmas we drove 165 miles to see my son's family and I told him I won't do that again, either. They will have to come here because I simply can't sit in a car for hours at a time.

I won't travel long distances neither. Sitting in a car and not being able to move about is pure torture. My muscles will ache for days from being tensed up from the ride. It's hell getting old. :(

My older brother and I seem to have agreed that we don't want to go to any more funerals. I offered him a place in my mulch or manure pile--his choice--if he wanted to be sent out here. I told my hubby about a crematorium here that will come and get a body, incinerate it, put it in a box and deliver it to whomever for $600. Expensive funerals are stupid. Back in the day people would travel, get together and have a large meal in the house to say goodbye to everyone they didn't see often but wanted to.
Hotels, restaurants, not to mention the funeral home and flowers?
If the remaining family wants that, OK but for me a cardboard box is fine.

Glad you are going to the doctor. Hopefully they will get you on the right treatment. I haven't been able to travel far for years. A 50 mile trip is all I can do if I plan carefully for it. Have you tried sitting on a bag of frozen peas? Start sideways to get some cold up to the worst area. A donut cushion with a bag of frozen peas, sideways, in the donut hole was what I used for a few days and then Voltaren.

A compost pile sounds good to me.

My funeral days are over. My son passed away in August of 2023, and I was not able to make the trip from Florida back to Ohio. After that, I'm done with them all. And no funeral or any type of service for me, but if you can toast me with a glass of Merlot, that would be great.

How terrible to lose your son, Hoot. I'm very sorry for your loss.

We went back to ER, 6 am, but this time the UF one and the young Dr. gave a physical exam, and seems to agree with us about it being muscle and nerve pain, and not something else, causing her all the pain for four months now. He gave her Tylenol and a gabapentin tried to get her to try a different muscle relaxer too but she said don't want that one. But before we left he explained to us how some muscle relaxer won't work but usually if try another they will work and this is a different kind from what the other ER gave her. So he called in cyclobenzaprine a MR, and gabapentin both 21 capsules and said take them with Tylenol and to keep this appt. 3-10-26 with the new Dr.

Since we have gotten back, she ate a little bit, and has been asleep in her chair, will see how things go, and thanks to all of you, for helping her.

Like I said before @Jake Smith , there are muscle relaxers and MUSCLE RELAXERS. She might find that the new prescription works much better. Just don't allow her to drive until she knows how they affect her.

Also, Don; they told her she needs to see if the new female Dr. will send her for physical therapy, to make sure she's doing the right exercises, to fix the torn muscles and nerve damage. Forgot to post that earlier.

I'm glad the ER doc was a bit more thorough this time, Jake. Did they do any x-rays or scans of any kind? The fact that he gave gabapentin tells me that he suspects nerve involvement, which isn't surprising since the tailbone is the end of the spine. I hope the meds will help her.

He offered x-ray, leaving it up to her, said he would send them to new Dr. but mainly he was pushing for her to go to the new Dr, and get PT. He was way more "thorough", doing the physical exam, and seemed concerned about her well being, unlike the last ER. She seems some what better with the new meds so far; can't pick up refills, until tomorrow because our drug store isn't open on Sunday; I will run to town in the morning, and get them.

Nor a fan of day light savings. Just means more time in the dark when you wake at 4am, aka 5am DLST.
Pain level is still extremely high, plus a few more area's joined in today ,top of feet, bottom of feet.
I put off tylenol but am about to take it now. Drug store open's today, so may get muscle relaxer and galvepentin.

If something as simple as squats can do this, I can't wait to try out the next great exercise!
None of them come with a warning, like be sure and try these they are great for sadistic suckers who love excruciating pain for months..
