Storm is suppose to come thru, wind was high now it is so still a bit scary.
I mean still as dead quiet.
Sigh and I had so hope to sleep a bit longer.

When I was a kid living in Indiana, I loved sitting on the covered front porch with the awnings pulled down during the most violent thunderstorms. In hindsight, they were likely tornadic.

Storms are amazing. They clean the air, they discharge all that stored static electricity, they take dead leaves off of trees and fell dead & ailing trees in a violent pruning process to provide food & shelter for some critters while making room for healthy growth.

Then when they're over, things are so calm, and the air smells so clean.

Lots of parallels to life events.

We got a wonderful storm yesterday. 3.91 inches, a real gully washer. Sorely needed as we are 15 inches under where we should be. Broke an almost record streak of + 90° days,11 straight .Record was 12 set in 1973

That's a TON of rain in such a short period of time!

I tried to find out where we are with YTD rainfall but can't find the stat (I think we're pretty lose to average.) It's been a while since we've had a real deluge. Daggone NOAA website has the data, but getting to it is tough. I can find a direct link for Peachtree GA data.

It's 1:00 a.m. and a storm is rolling in. Wind is picking up and it's thundering. I hope our power doesn't go off because I must have my a/c.
