Tunes With A Patriotic Flavor

I'm not sure Neil Young's lyrics are patriotic.
How so?
Neil Young’s 1989 hit "Rockin' in the Free World" is a protest song and ironic critique of American society under the George H.W. Bush administration, highlighting issues like homelessness, poverty, drug abuse, and environmental degradation. While often mistaken for a patriotic anthem, it sarcastically contrasts the promise of a "kinder, gentler" nation with the harsh reality of the American dream.
From Iran-Contra to his New World Order to feminist promiscuity reaching its peak Bush wasn't exactly George Washington. He and his Uniparty successor Bill Clinton were such threats that H. Ross Perot stood up to counter them.

If he had prevailed we might be living in a far better America today. Sadly too many voters just weren't very smart in '92.

I liked Ross Perot.

When I listen to any song, I seldom know the deep hidden meaning of the lyrics or any songwriter's agenda. I just hear the lyrics, and those don't instill any feeling of national pride or patriotism. I had no idea it is a "protest song."

Besides the fact that Neil Young is a leftist lunatic and I have zero interest in his music anymore. Just like Springsteen; he should have stayed out of politics. "Born in the USA," indeed.
