I am a lover of the ghoulish and creepy. One of my fave movie genres is of the ghostie and spooky theme. Top of my list is this shock fest that some 55 years after first seeing it.. still sends shivers thru me. It is the gothic mystery The Innocents.
The below scene is probably the most terrifying in the film.. for me anyway.

After seeing the apparition in the window, she opens the door and rushes out into the darkness like a fool. Why do they always do that?

I'm going to have to bow out of this thread. I can't watch scary movies. The last one I watched was "The Shining". And it will be that last one I ever watch. :D

C'mon it is only for short posts, pics, clips and such. No full movies. Talk about your fear phobia too.

Being abducted and not knowing what's going to happen to me is probably the highest ranking phobia I have. It's not the same as someone breaking into our home but being out and being taken.

The graveyard scene at the end of "Carrie" when the hand comes out of the ground. Horrors!

The loudest I ever screamed during a movie didn't come from the movie itself, but something in the theater. It was a weeknight and the only spectators in the whole large theater were the two of us and a young couple with a toddler who they were allowing to wander around. No problem, he was quiet.

It was a sci-fi movie (couldn't tell you the name ) and it had got to an intense moment where something slimy with tentacles was about to get the hero. Just then something cold and sticky grabs my bare ankle. I scream and jump. Something starts squalling under my seat. It's the little boy.

I'm just glad I didn't kick and hurt him. But who would be OK with letting their kid crawl around on a nasty theater floor, picking up who-knows-what to eat? Yuck.

I have to say that was one of the most confronting movie scenes I have ever witnessed.

Very brave of you @Shirley Martin. I rewatched Poltergeist the other day after decades. It still has the power to chill.

I agree. Out of all the Hannibal movies with Anthony Hopkins this one was the best.

Hannibal movies were all gory..and I prefer psychological horror rather than blood or gore. Silence of the Lambs was my favorite film that contained the Hannibal Lecter character.. if I have to choose one film over another. Having said that it also had that horrible face removal scene.

This is from one of the best psycho thrillers made. De Niro's character stalking the housewife in Cape Fear.
