My imagination remembers how my past 27 cars sounded, and none of them made those noises, but sounded more like this: (Engine Starting, then Running) Jalopy: Growl.Growl, then Kachugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchug Jaguar: Charum Charum, then Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Hal
Ahhhh, the hell with this! My first example was taken from a copy of the Readers Digest 40-50 years ago, and the only one I have that's my own is this one: The sound of dropping a heavy stone into a pool of deep, still water makes a sound that reminds me of the word "ASSUMPTION". AS (when the stone hits the water) SUMP (when the water is splashed upward from the surface) TION (when the displaced water falls pack into the pond) That's it...I quit this thread! But before I go, I would like to give you a sound contrast from folk singer John Hartford (Who wrote "Gentle On My Mind"). Just go to Google and type in: Good Old Electric Washing Machine, then go to the video showing John Hartford sitting on a concrete porch and play it. Now THAT'S a Sound Contrast! Hal
