There was a story about them a few years ago on one of the news shows. For whatever reason they popped in my head today, and I thought they'd be interesting to make a thread out of I'm a big fan of Art, the talent out there is just amazing.
Yes, the talent out there is amazing. We may have discussed this with music, how we only encounter a fraction of a percent of the talented people out there because they're slinging burgers or sitting behind computers to put food on the table. It applies to lots of stuff. I have a sister who had a Jon Gnagy art set in her youth. She is good at it. When my brother's dog passed away (collie/black lab mix), she did a portrait of the dog in chalk. You have to get close to realize it's not a photograph. I'll never stop being amazed at what humans can do. Back on topic: The artist's name is Dalton Ghetti. I can only find a decent video about him on Vimeo, so cannot embed it on the forum. Here is the link. Here is Dalton's website. He's Brazilian and and came to the states in 1985 at the age of 24. Just amazing.
I had to look is up on the internet today find some photos I came across three artists just doing this kind of work they're all amazing. I looked up sculptures on pencil tips some of the work is shown and there is a couple of videos that's on YouTube. I didn't put the video on because the ones I saw are on the long side 11 to 12 minutes. I just wanted to bring it to people's attention because it's so fascinating. I tried my hand at oil painting years ago I'm a terrible artist however it's one of those endeavors that keeps you focused you forget everything that maybe troubling you. A few paintings I did my daughter's gobbled up guess they felt it was a remembrance, at least I hope that's the reason they took the paintings, the work is terrible. P.S. I checked out the video part of it anyway it may be the one I saw in the newscast seemed familiar.
