When "Surfin' USA" was released people howled that it ripped-off Chuck's "Sweet Little Sixteen." Brian Wilson admitted that Chuck's song inspired "Surfin'," was meant to honor him, and agreed to give Chuck 50% of the writer's share.

But I think it's cheesy on the part of Chuck's people to include "Surfin'" as one of Berry's hits, listed with the other ones on an album I recently viewed.

Frankly, I think the song below is a bigger rip-off of the old "Wabash Cannonball" although the older song may have already been public domain before "Promised Land" was released in '64.

Just like "My Sweet Lord" and "He's So Fine."

There's only a finite number of chord progressions, and only a tiny fraction of those are rock-suitable.
