Nipah Virus?

Around half the people who get severe Nipah virus infection die of it. The symptoms can vary in severity. It can cause pneumonia, just as COVID could. But the illness we worry most about is neurological symptoms; Nipah can cause encephalitis, which is inflammation of the brain.
Has anyone heard anything substantial about this?

I hear "China and India" and "from bats."

I haven't heard of that virus. Of course since Covid I no longer pay attention to fear mongering.
Absolutely the same here, and I didn’t worry much about the whole covid thing either. My immune system is pretty good, and i take my zinc and Vitamin C and D every day, so unless I did something that gave me a major infection, my body usually fights things off right away. If not, I let the fever take care of it and just bundle up in bed and let it burn off all the bad bugs and kill them.
The people who got the vaccinations seem to be the most likely to get any new virus that comes out, anyway, and I don’t have any vaccinations.

No vaccinations for us, since they combined another vaccine in the Tetanus shot, we haven't even got one of those in several years.

Beth it is not fear mongering to be aware of danger, although I do understand the hype involved too.

Covid was the least of my worries since I was diagnosed with cancer in the big middle of it. I resented being pressured to have that vaccine to continue having access to cancer treatment facilities. I guess I will never get over that resentment. I don't even take flu vaccine and you can bet I never will be forced to have another shot.

I remember when you went that that, we all were praying for you, and I so happy you beat it.
I've never had a flu vac either, nor did I get the Covid vac, and boy did some family and friends get upset, too bad not getting them.
One even said we were threatening others life for not taking them.

Thank you, Marie. All of you were so supportive during that time and I will always be grateful. I never went anywhere during treatment except to MD Anderson and back home, so I never planned to have the Covid shot. My oncologist pressured me into getting it and I guess I'll be mad about that forever.

My husband had the Covid shots because he was taking care of all our errands outside the house and had contact with people. He didn't want to bring the virus home. Plus he was over at his mother's to check on her several times a week and he didn't want to expose her to anything if he could help it.

The Covid "vaccination" was like no other before it. I am very, very against the mRNA shots, and they are spreading that technology into other areas. I am pro-vaccinations against serious diseases that you will probably be exposed to. I think most seniors should get pneumonia vaccine, and perhaps shingles vaccine, as, while that is seldom serious, it is very painful as those of you who have experienced it can attest. I have a friend who go shingles in her eye, and it spread into her brain and she developed varicella meningitis, for which she was hospitalized for a month or more and is still fighting the consequences almost a year later. She is 76 years old and has type 1 diabetes, so that may contribute to her issues. Even a relatively inconsequential virus can be serious in some. That is why healthcare should be an individual decision. As I have said before when people tell me their child is "fully vaccinated", I ask them when they got their plague shots, their cholera shots, their yellow fever vaccinations, rabies shots, botulism shots, etc., etc. The only cases of measles we have here are generally those who are vaccinated as children, are now in high school or college, and are exposed to a foreign tourist with measles after the immunity from childhood has waned. I saw an outbreak of diphtheria in Georgia and there was one in Missouri, I think. among vaccinated children. In both cases, it was missed for some time and the disease spread because no doctor practicing now in the U.S. has seen a case of diphtheria. It was picked up in Georgia by a doctor who had done missionary work in Bangladesh, and I believe the outbreak in Missouri was discovered by the state lab doing serotesting on a bacteria they had mistakenly identified as harmless.

I don't know.

I think shining on light on things before the cockroach infestation becomes entrenched is a good thing. How many of us had any idea this Somali problem in Minnesota and Ohio was developing?
Jacob this is not a Somali problem; it is an America problem that nether the dems or repubs seem to have a problem with.
Where is the National Guard protecting American sovereignty?
The promise went from all 30 million of you have to go to criminals only now.
ICE and local police can't protect America from the whole worlds invading masses.

Same here. They forced my poor middle daughter, when in for cancer treatments, with badgering to take the vaccines and I could not get in to see her without proof of vaccine. If it protected people so well why did they worry about those who were unvaccinated.
Grrrrrrr.....

It was all scam to make money for Big Pharma @Mary Stetler. I suspect they knew at least something about the effectiveness and the "leakiness" of the vaccine. Some of that data is reflected in the summaries that have since been released. I think the people who developed the "vaccine" now received the Nobel Prize for Medicine, reflecting the meaninglessness of the prizes as a whole. The Peace Prize has been meaningless for decades and now the Medicine prize follows it in the hole.
